majstang Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hi! Epg.dat isnt readable anymore. I know it was before, cuz I used to do it. Any change I missed perhaps? Need to be able to change some data in that file. Quote
Lars_MQ Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 The format has not changed for nearly two years (or maybe longer). Quote
majstang Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) The format has not changed for nearly two years (or maybe longer). Hmm...strange! Two different .dat readers wont open it. If I remeber it right I think i had notepad reading it before, but that wont do now. Well, i must investigate further. Thanks! Edited July 25, 2010 by majstang Quote
Griga Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 If I remeber it right I think i had notepad reading it before Never! It has always been a binary file. The specifications are available in the members area -> sources -> epg.dat / channels.dat structure. Quote

nuts Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Are there any plans to change the epg.dat / channel.dat structure? Quote
hackbart Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Probably not, this is all caused by the downward compatibility. If you want to get the EPG data you should better connect to the Com interface and read the information there.. Cheers Christian Quote

Cheers Christian Sorry for sticking my big nose in, but which feature/software downward compatibility are you referring to more specific? It would be great to have the possibility to easily edit epg.dat through scripts if needed. Edited July 26, 2010 by majstang Quote

Lars_MQ Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I would strongly discurage this, cause editing the epg.dat will cause a lot of problems. Use the COM interface. Quote
