PetrC Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Hi anybody, i have a problem with streaming to 2 clients simultaniously. I dont use recording service, because not wake up after hibernate (DVBViewer in my configuration yes). DVBViewer as client on remote side make glitches while tv watching, but Vlc not even in HD. I would like stream with two VLC clients. Server 2xUSB skystar HD 2 CI with last version DVBViewer, Windows XP 2xAMD5200 4GB ram. 1. multicast.dll not available yet. Is there to download? 2. I tried 2 DVBViewers (differents dirs and admin rights), but not make second http server functioning with port 81. 3. net stream plugin, some times unstable. is there conect with two vlc clients into multicast mode netstream plugin or dvbserver via vlc like udp://@ip:portx were x is channel. Is there other solution DVBViewer, vlc in configuration: server 2xUSB skystar HD 2 CI with, two clients with independently channel switching? Thanx for response, best regards. Petr. Quote
swerner Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hi anybody, i have a problem with streaming to 2 clients simultaniously. I dont use recording service, because not wake up after hibernate (DVBViewer in my configuration yes). Recording Service works fine after hibernate - please try a recent beta release. This would be the best solution. DVBViewer as client on remote side make glitches while tv watching, but Vlc not even in HD. Why not fix the "glitches" first - or are they produced by the serial number vaildation? Sascha. Quote
PetrC Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 With VLC client in SD or HD no problem, but with DVBViewer as client and DVBServer as Server there some times problem with glitches. I test long term stability with streamming DVBViewer (netstream plugin) to vlc and recording service. 1. Recording service cause meny errors in coddec information panel of VLC. I tried with lan cable. 2. DVBViewer (netstream plugin) to vlc have good short term stability with no errors, but sometimes after half or one hour DVBViewer on server side crashes. I saw little dependency on selected channel. Channel switching is made by small utility on client PC vlc (keyboardhook) and on server postmessage to DVBViewer. I would like using vlc as client on windows and linux. Is there chance to determine why DVBViewer with netstream crashes without any message? Best Petr Quote
desweil Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 as already been said, beter use the recording service. post a support.zip please. have you installed it corretly?(see the wiki) what version? Quote
PetrC Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Hi desweil, Thanx for your interest to solve my problem. HW SRV: MSI Media Live, AMD Athlon 64X2 5200+(2.71Ghz) 4GB, Raid 1.5 TB, Win XP SRV.P.3. SAT HW you see in logs. SRV SW: DVBViewer ver. 4.2.1 SVC 1.6.2.3 VLC 0.8.6i Client SW: VLC 1.1.2 First tested DVBViewer. Second install SVC and conigure due to wiki... I say again with same condition, position (Wlan 54Mb, 3COM AP allow multicast up to 25MBit) vlc again some times frozen with recording service. Would you so kind and help solve this problem. Lars_MQ Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Use the recording service and the webinterface. Quote
PetrC Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Use the recording service and the webinterface. ok, but there stream errors as mentioned in post before. I used rec service(svc) and the webinterface see post before (photos). Quote
PetrC Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 as always no response, especially Lars... Quote
desweil Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 so you say, that streaming to VLC via Netstreaming plugin gives no errors, via rec. Service does give errors? Both times the same PC? Try streaming via rec. service to the local PC(the machine where the service is on) to see if its network related. Quote
PetrC Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Yes that is right. I tried streamming on servver side its ok. I tried small test. 1. I configured Netstream plugin in DVBViewer. DVBViewer is connected via unicast to recording service. Next shortcut shows network config netstream plugin in DVBViewer: http://axpsu.fpf.slu.cz/~cer10ui/DVBViewer%20and%20netstream%20plugin.png I started streamming from DVBViewer and netstreamming plugin (port 3338) and streaming from webinterface parallely. Next figure shows situation: http://axpsu.fpf.slu.cz/~cer10ui/Streamming%20nestream%20plugin%20in%20dvbviewer%20and%20recording%20service%20and%20webinterface.png How setup same parameters of netstream plugin in recording service streamming server? I thing, that only problem is in streamming server of recording service. Do you think, that is true? Best regards. Peter. Quote
desweil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 mmhh. So if you don't go over the network then it's ok? Then I think its a network problem. Because streaming via Rec. Service Webinterface to VLC works for me, so I don't see a big bug in the streaming server. Maybe the bug is only present in the latest rec. service release, because I haven't tested it lately... Maybe Lars could confirm, that its workin for him? Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 For comparision test would you be so kind and provide some information? Which version of rec. service do you have? Do you have Wlan? I have server conected directly to 3Com Wireless 8760 Dual Radio 11a/b/g PoE Access Point. Which do you have? Would you be so kind and send me some specific information as: 1.MTU set on your server PC. 2.Type of wlan ver. a/b/g 3.Fragment length set on your AP 4.RTS Treshold set on AP 5.MTU set on Client PC 6.Streamming server of recording have default value 16384? 7.VLC caching value for http and tcp. Question to Lars, which is main difference in 1. streaming server between wersion of rec. services, 2. difference between streamming server of recording service and DVBViewer(unicast to rec. service) with netstream plugin? Meaning of "videobuffer for file streamming" Value 16384 and max 131072. I think that maybe small. But i dont belive in Lars response as usually. PS: I tested streamming from DVBViewer(unicast to rec. service) with netstream plugin to vlc over night, and all its ok. Thanx a lot. Quote
desweil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Just tested with Rec. Service 1.6.0. No problem. Have WLAN 54mbit g. Haven't changed any MTU or buffer values. Normal VLC installation. Where have you found the buffer 16384? Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 VideoBuffer is in config rec.service->web on upnp av server or in file service.xml.

1

8889

0

1

1

0

0

1

16384

EF565707-6915-4013-B3FF-65F7A465E111
Question is, if related to web streamming to vlc. Do you know, where we can specify paramaters for webstreamming to vlc? Best. Quote
desweil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 thats related to upnp, not the webstreaming to vlc. If it works locally, then it must be a network problem, not a rec. service problem. Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 OK where is chance changing parameters related to streamming to vlc on recording service? Quote
desweil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 you probably can't. I would concentrate on a DVBViewer client solution(which is the most convenient way) or - if you want to use linux - try the upnp av streaming to xbmc for example. Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 But why trough DVBViewer is working and with recording service does not why, i thing is related to buffer size on output of rec. service. Wait i found article about xmbc and problem related to new version of xmbc and patch to work with rec service... Did you test the other solution on you own? Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 When i start streamming from web pages directly i saw in vlc this: http://10.0.0.10:7522/upnp/channelstream/0.ts but there is related to upnp server isnt it? Best. Quote
desweil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I don't know how exactly the streaming servers work, or if the upnp core is used for webstreaming or not. Maybe it is related to buffer size but it does work mostly because I have never heard of this problem before. So maybe in combination with a network related problem on your side the buffer value is not optimal. XBMC should work however, so does DVBViewer as client. Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 There is some info from xbmc forum, is there problem in new version of rec service? http://forum.xbmc.org/archive/index.php/t-62151.html http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=454073&postcount=13 Best. Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 If there is problem with webstreamming in my situation, and for streammnig is used same streamserver as for upnp, means that xbmc will be have same problem? Best. Quote
PetrC Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 Hi all, who have working streamming under wlan and have Skystar 2 HD CI or USB 1. Streamming from recording service to vlc 2. Streamming from recording service to upnp client xbmc under Windows 2. Streamming from recording service to upnp client xbmc under Linux Please send me parameters for optimizing my network Version of recording service Type of wlan a/b/g/n/... Type of AP? 1.MTU set on your server PC. 3.Fragment length set on your AP 4.RTS Treshold set on AP 5.MTU set on Client PC 6.Streamming server of recording have default value 16384? 7.VLC caching value for http and tcp. PetrC Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 Hi Lars, do you answer some question? Is there chance change buffer size of streamming service(webinterface)? Is streaming in upnp like xbmc same as streamming(webinterface)? Is there chance specify more precisious number of 188 block packet into MTU... Would you be so kind and provide parameters related to your wlan settings like: 1. type router 2. wlan a/b/g/n... 3. MTU server(rec. service) PC 4. transmit. block size in AP 5. RTS in AP 6. MTU client PC Do you test on your network connection between rec. service and XBMC 9.11 on ubuntu? Thanx. Quote
Lars_MQ Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Is there chance change buffer size of streamming service(webinterface)? I don't know excactly what you mean to archive. You don't have to change this. Is streaming in upnp like xbmc same as streamming(webinterface)? Direct streaming (without transcoding!) in the webinterface is the same as UPnP streaming. Is there chance specify more precisious number of 188 block packet into MTU... No. TS streaming uses 7 * 188 Byte, that amount fits in a standard TCP packet. If you having problems with stuttering, just set the cache a little higher in VLC. All my settings are untouched, means I use the defaults of windows. I'm using a 50 mbit and a 300 mbit receiver laptop with vista/win 7 and a fritzbox as router (nothing changed there too). Quote
PetrC Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 In my test befor i did set caching value in vlc to 5000ms. With DVBViewer and netsream plugin there is not any stuttering. But with recording service streaming to vlc there are. Which version of VLC is the most stabile for streamming. Due to my test is vlc 0.8.6, maybe is it curious. What is your sugestion? Returnig to your response Lars "Is there chance change buffer size of streamming service(webinterface)" I mean which amount of 188 buffers will be send from DBV HW to network stack in recording service? In DVBServer and Netstream plugin i can set amount of 188 buffers. Where is chance set in recording service? I would like to know if you sending by send(BSD socket or afxsocket) exactly 7*188 bytes bufer(one tcp) or you send number*7*188? in 1. nestream plugin 2. DVBServer 3. Recording service streamming Did you test rec service with xmbc on linux, and which versions? Thanx for response Peter. Quote
PetrC Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 Other question to Lars. The parameter max Buffer in DVBServer's network tab is only for client settings by server discovery func? or is used by server side DVBServer to setting cache or other stream funtionality? Best. Quote
PetrC Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) Did anybody make connection between rec. service and xbmc in linux? Please let me know. Best. Edited September 5, 2010 by PetrC Quote
Lars_MQ Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 My guess would be: you have something messed up in the networksettings of the windows PC where the service is running. Or a completly shot network installation. We are using only standard values (1460 byte workload for a TCP packet fits 7 x 188 byte TS packets) and do nothing out of the ordinary. Do you have maybe Jumboframes (or something similar) activated in the settings of the networking card? I tested it with a Linux XBMC liveCD (cable bound cause my WLAN card was not detected and I was not in the mood the mess with linux again ) and it works. I checked it with windows VLC over WLAN and it works. And it works for most other users, so instead of trying to mess with the settings of the software you should first try to get you hardware setup correctly working. Quote
PetrC Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 I checked MTU of network card PC with rec. service is 1500 as usuall. MTU on client PC is 1500. I havent any problems with streaming from internet to vlc etc. 1. Next idea is to monit otcomming pakets from PC where is recording service. Monit pakets incomming to client PC and compare each other. I must install Microsoft Network Monitor on client side. Analysis take a bit time. 2. Test another AP, but old does work perfectly yet. Do you have different idea? Best. Quote
PetrC Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Hi Lars, finally i SOLVED this problem related to stuttering with recording service (overnight). There is small advice: Symtoms: 1.DVBViewer netstream plugin streamming to vlc works. 2.Recording service streamming to vlc some times stuttering. 3.In other situation wlan network work ok. 4.MTU on recording service PC is set to 1500 5.MTU on client side (vlc..) PC is set to 1500 6.You have AP with RTS/CTS handshaking. then DONT USE default settings. Set RTS value on AP to 1500. Thanks Lars for cooperation. Quote
