entrecour Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I have checked the Wiki and on the English forum, may have missed it, but I could not find out whether RS supports tuner cards installed on multiple PC's connected on the same LAN. Does anyone know?
Lars_MQ Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 No, it doesn't. But it supports multiple tuner cards connected to the PC the service is running on. BTW should you have a watertight concept to get something like this to work, I would be very interessted in it. Just keep the outline short, about 100 pages A4 papersize would be enough to cover the essentials I guess.
entrecour Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Is it possible to run two seperate instances of RS (on different compueters each with their own tuner) and have DVBV pick up the seperate streams?

It's really not very helpful.
Derrick Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Is it possible to run two seperate instances of RS (on different compueters each with their own tuner) and have DVBV pick up the seperate streams? yes as @Lars wrote, a single pc can have multiple tuners connected to a single service, but you can have multiple services connected to multiple computers. On a client you'll have to assign a corresponding number of unicast devices.
entrecour Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks for the clarifcation / confirmation. I'd appreciate some help on the configuration setup for tuners on seperate PC's. I have two PC's each with their own tuner. I have setup an independent RS on each PC, each have different ports for webserver and UPnP server. In the DVBPro client running on each machine I have configured two Unicast devices - autoconfigure correctly shows each machine, and in Options / Recording Sevice section I have enabled RS and set the service address and web port to be that of the RS on the local machine. I assume I have to scan the channels on both machines. How do I scan / access channels on the other PC? Thanks!
Derrick Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 if both devices receive from the same lnb (e.g. via multiswitch) you'll just have toperform a scan on one pc. Then you can copy the channel list onto the other pc.
entrecour Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 OK, and then DVBPro will automatically choose the appropriate Unicast device according to the "State" setting in Options / Hardware, or just what's available?
