Lip sync error when bad DVB-T signal, which one is the best codec?

Hello.

I don't have the best DVB-T card or antenna so the signal quality is not at the maximum. This is not a big problem for Blaze HDTV software, that was supplied with my DVB-T card, causing only random pixelation but otherwise the video is sufficient without freezing. But that is quite limited program so I looked for more functions and must say DVBViewer is very good. Unfortunately I discovered that maybe due to the signal errors the audio/video synchronization is weakening leading to a very noticeable difference in lip sync. The problem was present in version 4.2 and also in the new 4.5 beta. The broadcastings here are in MPEG2/MP3 format and I'm using Windows XP with several different codecs installed. I have tried e.g. ffdshow, MPC, Elecard and DScaler with desync problem in all cases.

It seems to be an insuperable obstacle to have a better signal here, which is maybe the reason for this issue. But however I have the other DVB software that can handle signal errors without desyncronization problems at all, so I thought there must be a solution to fix DVBViewer also.

It may depend on the audio decoder. I would try AC3 Filter (suitable for MPEG and AC3 audio). AFAIK it has a good timestamp handling.

If this doesn't help, try the DVBViewer Filter options, particularly "Use DVB Clock" and "Check Timestamp Continuity". Read more about it here.

Thanks, I tried AC3Filter but sorry to say it made no difference. I had already tried these other settings you mentioned and didn't notice anything changed. The problem stays, when I change a channel or rebuild graphics everything works fine for a moment, but after about 30 seconds I will notice a delay in audio in comparison to video. If you have more ideas please let me know.
