When scanning, how you only pick up new channels

When I try to scan a transponder/transponders, the only way it seems to pick up new channels is if I unselect everything except FTA/active, but then it also just adds duplicates of all the channels that already exist. Is there no way to just pick up new channels without duplicating everything?

Thanks Tjod, I take it that implies it is not possible to add new channels without adding duplicates in DVBViewer's built in scanner?

If you selected the old root as target root the channel scan should add all channels which are nor already in the root and update already present channels.

But if you like to selected which channels you like to add. You need TransEdit

Yes I do that, same root, if I select update only, new channels are not added, if I don't select it they are added along with duplicates of the existing channels. I did try transedit (new version out today) and I succeeded that way, although you need to be careful to choose the same root.

Doesn't happen here. Two possible reasons for your result:

- You've scanned without transponder list.

- The DiSEqC setting for scanning differs from the DiSEqC setting of the channels, so DVBViewer regards the scan results and channels as different.

This is it :) all my channels are set to DiseqC none, but scan seems to default to pos B/opt B, thanks Griga!
