daveyboyc Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Hi, I cant seem to be able to get subtitles (neither DVB or teletext) on sky news using dvb-s freesat. Is there a way around this? Cheers Quote
Derrick Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 ..afaik sky news is not part of freesat. Apparently there are no subtitles transmitted. If you get subtitles on a skybox, let us know Quote
daveyboyc Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 There should be subtitles. You can get it on a skybox yes. Also works with FTA DVB-T. Is there not a way of tuning it in to get the subtitles (teletext of DVB) Quote
Derrick Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Ok, you've got a point There are 2 different videotext streams for sky news. One contains the betting part and the other the subtitles. Alas DVBViewer can only store a single PID for teletext and not several as is the case for audio. You have to fiddle with the settings manually and enter PID 576 as teletext PID. You've also have to uncheck "Auto-Update Channel" otherwise the wrong PID 578 will be selectetd again. btw. the frequency should read 12207 Quote
daveyboyc Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Thanks for that. I still cant seem to work though, how do i make sure the changes are being saved? I am clicking "apply" Quote
