is it normal that i cannot open a ts recording with vlc/videolan [actually i'm using 1.1.4]?

It is a Bud in the subtitle auto detection in the VLC player.

Disable "Autodetect subtitle files" (Tools > Preferences > (all) > Video > Subtitle/OSD)
