jynkky Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) Watching recordings from recording service (from server PC) with DVBViewer on client doesnt work. DVBViewer sees all the recordings, but when I click to play the recording just disappears from the list. Live tv works correctly though from unicast device. And recordings are accessible over the network if I watch them for example with VLC or xbmc. So it shouldnt be any network issue. All recordings are created by service on server pc. Any advices are really appreciated.. DVBViewer is 4.5 and rec service 1.6.8. support.zip attached -J edit: server support.zip added. support.zip support_server.zip Edited December 17, 2010 by jynkky Quote

jynkky Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 I have checked and rechecked that part of the wiki. Only way I get recordings to play on my laptop is directly assign network drives as recorder directory. But if trying via recording server, no go. On the server side, I have played with different service startup settings to grant all rights. I think this is more server side problem because those recordings also disappears from web service as well. After updating database they are listed again. Also it should not be a network issue as I can play (or delete) those files with every player. I can live with this setup for now. Hopefully someone smarter faces similar issue and finds a solution. And OS's are win7 64bit, if that makes any difference. -J Quote
Tjod Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Have you changed all recording folders in the Recording Service to UNC Paths? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Path_(computing)#Uniform_Naming_Convention If yes Web interfacer > Tasks > Refresh Recording DB Quote
jynkky Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Problem solved. Great. I didnt understood correctly that explanation in the wiki pages. How ever I found out that server reports its own file path to clients. So client doesnt have a chance to find that file when its located e.g in C:\recordings\..... I renamed the server drive letters to match to the ones mapped on clients. Thanks for help.. -J Quote
