t4u Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hi, I am having trouble with a Terratec H7 DVB-C card. I am able to find all channels and watch all free-to-air channels without problems. When I switch to encrypted channels I can only hear sound (a bit choppy though) but I cannot see a picture. I have tried everything, using all available drivers from Terratec etc without luck. One thing that I do notice is that the Mbit value drops from around 5.5 Mbit on free channels to 0.3 Mbit on encrypted channels. Is this a sign that the signal is bad, or is it just an effect of the decryption not working? The signal strength is always around 98%. Another thing I notice is that when I access the CAM interface and go to the Card subscription status I only get the message "Please wait" an nothing happens for a very long time. On a set-to-box I can however view the subscription status. It also doesn't work in Terratec's own program. I have read online that other people with the same HW and the same provider has gotten this equipment to work without problems... What else could I try to get the encrypted channels working? DVB card: Terratec H7 with built in CI module, driver: 1.00.07.601 CAM: Dilog Conax (99010) (is supported by the provider) Provider: Comhem, Sweden dvb-c Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Intel Core i3, 4 GB RAM Intel HD graphics support.zip Quote
Mandrax Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Hi, I'm facing a similar situation - don't hear or see anything- , while not for all encrypted channels. Have issues with 2 transponders on which all channels are problematic. Using Transedit can see that approx. 20 % of packets are missing and accordingly with View-> Filter-> DVB-Source tons of discontinuities are detected Couldn't solve it for months. Know this doesn't help but you aren't alone. W7 HP 64 bit 1.00.05.601 Alphacrypt Light v.1.16 Quote
Derrick Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 ..maybe the problems are not related. What happens (for both cases) when the ci-module is unplugged? @t4u, could you also do this check with transedit's analyzer? Quote
Lars_MQ Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 please start the DVBViewer in debug mode (starts -> Prgrams -> DVBViewer group -> Support), tune the channels and then post a new support.zip. Quote
t4u Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Hi, One thing that i tried was to updated the USB port drivers on the computer to standard Microsoft divers and now I am able to see a bit more of the encrypted channels. The screen is however about 2/3 green still and the Mbit has gone up slightly. Still cannot access the Subscription status for the card though. Can the problem be related to the USB connection between the TV card and the computer? If I remove the CAM and open an encrypted channel nothing happens and I cannot open the cam settings of course. Transedit: I analyzed one frequency with one of the problematic encrypted channels (TV3): 98% quality, 0 Missing, 3.12 Mbps, 8.2 %, this looks alright right? I'm attaching the new support file collected in debug mode. support.zip Quote
Derrick Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 ..the purpose of pulling the module was only to exclude reception problems. If there are no missing packets, reception should be ok. Dunno what the problem is but "ParseSI Bad CRC" in the debuglog is not a good sign. Quote
Mandrax Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi using Transedit - Windows 7 HP 64 bit: removed CAM --> no missing packets inserted CAM --> number of missing packets increases with each screen update Plugging the Terratec H7 DVB-C device into an old Windows XP Prof 32 bit machine can watch all channels on both transponders showing problems under Windows 7 without any issues. In W XP environment no missing packets are observed with Transedit accordingly Rarely see also 2/3 of screen in green, same holds true for chopped sound mostly no sound at all. Support.zip created under debug mode Thanks for help and interest Quote
t4u Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 Hi I have now tried to install the Terratec card with the latest drivers and DVBViewer on a 32-bit Windows Vista instead. And I have the exact same problem on the other computer! Choppy sound, no picture for encrypted channels, perfect video and sound for free channels. In other words the problem cannot be related to 64-bit Windows Any idea what I could try next? Quote

I'm on 1.00.05.601, some time ago there was a beta 1.00.06.###### which didn't work either, so I went back to above version which is more than 18 months old. Have no issues on 32 bit Windows while bad when going to 64 bit OS. Under MacOS can see everything while no single recording is error free. Quote
t4u Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 Hi, I've been trying both Terratech drivers on the website: 1.00.07.601 (beta) and 1.00.05.601. I will try 1.00.05.601 again. Thank you for your reply. Quote
