NedZha Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Hello people Sorry if I'm posting this. confused; that's exactly what I am right now, although I tried to search the whole forum, google, etc... I'm upgrading to a DiseqC 1.2/USALS compatible Sat motor, and my dvb device is Skystar HD2. I was doubtful as I always am and before everthing I emailed technisat, and their replay claimed that its possible. then I looked inside the pdf manual (the latest on their own website) and it says SS HD2 can't handle a DiseqC 1.2 motor (pdf looked like a poorly edited version of the original SS2). after that I used google. a lot of old and new postings showed up concerning the same issue. some had mentioned its impossible to do so, some pointed out that the latest driver is needed, and some believed that this card is not USALS certified or something, only DieseqC 1.2. so is it or isn't it? I can't think anymore, a lot of info hidden in disinfo. maybe NWO is really coming! lol sorry for being talkative thanks for any reply, otherwise I will thrash both card and the motor (Don't worry, DVBV will be safe). NedZha Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 someone come up with an answer please. yes or no or what? thanks you again Quote
Griga Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 and some believed that this card is not USALS certified or something, only DieseqC 1.2. The card doesn't need to be "USALS certified". It must allow the application to send any user-defined DiSEqC command. That's the main point, as far as it concerns DVBViewer. The SkyStar HD2 driver provides such an interface, like most cards/drivers that claim to be DiSEqC 1.2 compatible. DVBViewer generates the USALS commands and sends them via this interface. So it should work - in theory. However, there were several DiSEqC issues with SkyStar HD2 drivers in the past (version dependent), caused by strange attempts to recognize the commands sent by the application and to modify them, giving the overall impression that the manufacturer of the card (AzureWave, TechniSat is just a label in this case) resp. the driver developers are not really familiar with this topic. So you can't be 100% sure... Quote
