Great work with new RS!

Wow, this is surprisingly big changes produced in a very short timespan. Great work :biggrin: Particularly the timeline changes along with EPG details changes is my favourite. Nice to see the configuration file safety system is now working again. Only tiny minus with Timeline is the dull grey colours on EPG Timeline and white on timeslider, but understand if you want it looking similar to the DVBViewer EPG (which is also quite dull ;)). It would be nice with some tweak or options to choose other colours anyway :bye:

Yep thanks, now there is not unicode problem with nordic charts.

But (yes, there is allways but), there is one little thing what is still wrong in timer pop-up window, If i disable "show timerwindow" from settings.

-I start to timer program and press program name from tv-guide window

-Pop up jump out

-I press red record button

-Nothing happens? That pop up should pop down.

I hope you understand. Little thing, but annoying when my wife press that rec button many times.

But thanks again, great work. We just want more and more. :)

Replace the epg_details.html in the svcweb folder with the one in the attached zip.

Stop the service and start it again.

Now the EPG-Details overlay will close if you press the record butten.

Well you just need a graphics program. Then you can change the coloring of the files epg1.gif, epg2.gif, epg3.gif in svcweb\gfx\ and have a new look. but don't change the size or format, otherwise you'll have to edit the css in the html file. And you might have to close and open the page or reload it completely, so the changes are visible :)

The slider is part of the jquery ui. You can download another theme http://jqueryui.com/...r/#themeGallery, put it into the svcweb\css\ folder and edit the timeline.html entry

<link type="text/css" href="css/smoothness/jquery-ui-1.8.11.custom.css" rel="Stylesheet" />

accordingly. ;)

If you create a nicer look, please share, I don't insist on the gray/blue look. But it should be easy on the eye... ;)

In the web page of TV-guide +/- handler does not function in Safari with the newest version. Earlier version did not have this problem. Please, check the image attached.

In addition, with the newest build I am not able to save the changes made in the "devices" page. Once saved, started and stopped. All changes made concerning the devices (groups and other options) go back to their default values.

I was thinking of some way to make it easier to do all sorts of style changes...some RS style configuration tool/script should be created here. This could be a fun little project to investigate for me :)

I'm not so sure it will be "fun"... :blush: ATM it's more of a patchwork nightmare. There are a lot of things with the css handling which is in dire need of reorganisation and - well - improvement...

Checked, works in safari as expected. I would guess: there is no epg to be shown...

Are you sure, you installed the 1.7.1 in the correct folder? It sounds as if there may be more than one installations...

Before answering this, I wanted to double check, therefore, uninstalled / reinstalled - still have the same problem. Changes made to language, recording folder remains, but device go to their defaults :( ps: I have installed in the regular path which I have used earlier. Probably related to "privileges" given to the new page built? Hope, it is not me only.

Could others save the changes made to the "devices" option or am I the only one having this problem?

Sorry for double posting, could not remove the previous.

Uninstalled RC, uninstalled DVBViewer, Cleaned registery, Installed DVBViewer, Reinstalled RC => the same problem, devices are set to default whatever you do. Went back to 1.7.0.1, now it is ok once again. There must be something broken with 1.7.1, I assume. Waiting for somebody else to confirm this.

Thanks, that was quick. But... :)

Oh great. The logos have the "wrong" aspectratio (width should be greater than height). Please try the attached timeline.html :)

I have the opposite problem. My channel-logo-boxes is lacking in height so after some channels down channel-logo-box and EPG timeline no longer correlates. Se picture. Tried to use the timeline.zip above but no difference (replaced timeline.htlm--stop and start RS).

Wow! The slider is fantastic.

I have the problem that I don't have logos installed, so I can't tell which channel is which. If there is no logo, it should show a text with the name of the channel, as in the previous version.

@majstang

Which browser do you use? The height of the rows is absolute and should be used by the browser.

@JoeH

You're right, the nologo image is a bad idea, I'llchange it.

Edit:

@majstang

Disable the compatibility mode in the IE. :)

Do you mind to check kindly if you could change the options and e.g. channel group letters in the "devices" page and keep the new values - or do you get the defaults (all letters ticked for channel groups). I cannot get them saved. When I go back to a version earlier, I can save them. I would be relieved if somebody else than me could try to simulate the problem. Majstang? Thank you.

Ok, now it works.

And next:

-possibility to make epgsearch timers direct from DVBViewer epg with remote.

I have to try, my friend is pro coder and he have sometimes those maraton weekends too. :)

I have sorted it out :) If you do a "clean" install, trust me, you are not able to change the default values for the tuners. In addition, the web interface displays difficulties in getting the EPG detail (as I have shown earlier). Instead of a clean install, if you install an earlier version or if you have already an older version running and if you install the newer one over the older than you don't have any problems (as the others users in this thread did not have).

Thanks for your time - was not my intention to highjack your thread.

You are right, this is definitely a question of IE browser settings, but it's not the compatibility mode. No effect with nor without. Trying RS on Chrome the rows displays fine.

A tricky issue indeed. I did try to reproduce your issue yesterday and was not successful...all works as it should saving RS hardware settings on my system.

It does work. I checked it several times.

Does it create a svchardware.bak file in the configfolder?

Edit:

Ok I was too slow.

Well, I could reproduce the effect with the compatibility mode on (I mean the button in the adressfield looks like a ripped apart paper (well sort off)). With the mode off the IE9 does display it corretly here...

Ok, then it is time to upgrade from IE8 to IE9 I believe! Thanks, Lars!

:( you are right. after your post I tried it without any config files and bingo the svchardware.xml wasn't saved at all. I fixed it and will upload a hotfix tomorrow morning, after some more testing...

Sorry for the trouble. :unsure:

Yes, IE9 made my issue go away. Tried pretty much every setting on IE8 without any success. Now there is a tiny issue with IE9 ;)

My channel logos get ragged edges, which was not the case in IE8. Any ideas on why?

IE8

IE9

Here is a transparent no_logo. If you name it as "no_logo.png" and drop to your image folder, you won't see any logos, should the logo does not exist.

Hi all. I have IE9 and have had the Beta version for many months before the final release was available and had no issues with previous versions of RS as long as I used IE9 in compatability mode. I have now upgraded to the final reelase of IE9 Since updating to RS 1711 I have lost the ICONS and TEXT on the timeline page but it is fine on the TVGuide page. This is also the case with Chrome. Is a fix availble for this or have I not set something up correctly for this drop??? The other issue with the timeline page is that no matter what I set the displaywidth to in the configuration page, no difference is realised on the timeline page.

Thanks for the help (not) but I found that un-installing and running setup again worked. NOTE: This is a 64bit version of Windows 7. From the supplied screen-shot you can see that the web page was still at v2 not v3 although other parts of the system had been updated.

Yes, there is definitely some peculiar things going on right now. I stumbled onto the logo disappearance problem myself when downgrading from 1711 to 1710 the other day. Haven't thouched the logo path at all. Saw in the German part of the forum, some guys had the same problem, but dont know what conclusions they came to. I had an incident with processtasks freezed (after recording tasks) and stopped working after an upgrade from 1710 to 1711. Maybe the installer "forgets" to fully update windows registry somehow, cuz everything works when rebooting the system.

You are right regarding the "Settings "Timeline": Display interval (minutes):" option in configuration. Timeline window are now fixed with the default 120 minutes setting and you can not alter this. All other values put in does get saved into configfile alright, but nothing happens in timeline window.
