TCChan Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 Dear McenterFreak, Thanks for reply, but it still can't work properly. It records TV program in "Share docuement/Video" folder of windows 7! In the webinterface>Device Status: It shows the right path of "recording folder" but shows "Missing" in "Total" and "Free" column. The config. of my computer is: Win 7 Home Synology NAS Recording services 1.7.2 "VideoMate 2388x DBA Tuner/Demod" Win 7 Login > "ABC" user without password Synology NAS > "ABC" user with password and has access right of recording folder Recording Services > "admin" user without password Is it a worong setting so it can't record properly in the NAS folder? Thanks for your help. It make me difficult to sleep!! Regards, TCChan
McenterFreak Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Thanks for reply, but it still can't work properly. It records TV program in "Share docuement/Video" folder of windows 7! I am not an expert in NAS, i use a Windows Server. But you need to have full rigths (Read/Write) to the folder where you plan to store your recordings. Try to create a document with Notepad in the folder, if you can save it, you have the correct rigths, otherwise you should consult your documentation for the NAS In Recording Service it should look something like this (see atached file)
SergeyKa Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Please see Recording Service Installation Guide, chapter "Networkable Recording folders". Otherwise, if you want DVBViewer Pro Clients to have access to the Recording service from other PCs over your home network, you must first define the recording folders with the same UNC paths of those on your local pc or network. Therefore these folders must have a Network Share. If there are problems with accessing external HDDs like NAS, you can configure with the Windows Service Manager to run the RecordingService under a user account, if this are needed for the access. On the DVBViewer Clients the same UNC paths MUST NOT be set, otherwise, recordings can be doubled-up in the database. Leave all other setting at the default values or adjust later to your wishes. Here the Wiki page for informations about Recorder options.
