often, when I start DVBViewer 4.8.0.1 (purchased it from the site) on Windows 7 64bit SP1 Enterprise Edition, i get this message: "no hardware available"

I have to reboot the program or restart the computer several times and everything goes back to work.

Do you have any advice?

..when using the recording service, the hardware has to be deactivated in the DVBViewer (hardware options -> don't use) and be replaced by an unicast device.

just follow the installation guide (the links Tjod posted) step by step. It's not rocket science!

But why is the recording service??

? If you want to use the Recording Service then you have to configure it properly. Or deinstall it.

my problem was not with the Recording Service.

my problem is that sometimes when I start the DVBViewer I get the message "no hardware available", and I have to restart the program several times, or the PC.

..maybe another application is claiming your device in the background (e.g. MCE) ? If that's so, you have to deactivate mce.
