fxv1 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 After messing around with all codecs renderers etc...I had a play with Transedit. check out my 10847 transponder results here. http://www.manikata.com/tecchie/DVBViewer/transedit.htm the bizarre thing is that the display via transedit (right click -->preview) has no artefacts whatsoever...it just suffers with a bit of stutter...why is that different to DVBViewer picture? By the way is there a way to restore DVBviwer to default setting ?? Quote
Gioxy Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) why is that different to DVBViewer picture? Mainly it's because Transedit don't have the nice DVBViewer's OSD; second: maybe it's setted to use different decoders (look into: Settings / Preview); and last, normally TE preview start in (little) windowed mode... dvbrewer Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) the bizarre thing is that the display via transedit (right click -->preview) has no artefacts whatsoever There is a problem with current ATi drivers and S2 BBC HD/One HD, see this thread, you need to roll back to older drivers. fxv1 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 There is a problem with current ATi drivers and S2 BBC HD/One HD, see this thread, you need to roll back to older drivers. Well I rolled back to 11.4 and did a sweeperdriver clear out too...but not resolved for me. To-day I installed a blackgold DVB-t2 card and that worked fine with the same codecs for H264 (powerDVD11) no artefacts at all. So what does that prove ???? if CCC affects DVB-S2 then sure as hell it does not work ...if CCC has no bearing on DVB-s2 then maybe my Twinhan card is not up to the job, anyone out there with NVIDIA and Twinham getting good DVB-s2 pictures ?? The blackgold card is great I can open BBCONE HD and ITV HD in two dvbviwers ...wehey!!! It has twin tuners ...in fact DVBviwer claims it has about 8 entries, no idea as yet how to use them all ...I will investigate when I get some time. Quote
SimonP Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 IMHO the problem is more to do with codecs than drivers. Try installing DivX. I have seen that pixellation but I get a perfect 1920x1080 picture on BBC HD with 'DivX Decoder Filter' selected. PDVD10 works almost as well for me too. (FreeSat via TBS 8920 S2 card, ATI HD3650 graphics, ATI driver 8.861 (from Device Manager) and C2D 2.66GHz so hardly the worlds fastest system...) Quote
ml 05019 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I feel a need to involve here, since I don't have ATI videocard at all, mine is Intel GMA, and I have pixellation on BBC 1 HD only, not on BBC HD. I get terrestial signal from a rooftop antenna, so shouldn't be a signal issue, but even in recordings, the artifacts are visible, that normally means signal issues. P.S. My device is PCTV 290e and there are no artifacts visible with native Pinnacle TV Center software. Quote

I am leaning towards that as well, some days the channels work other days it is full of artefacts etc.....after 2 days on DVB-T2 I have not seen pixellation or artefacts at all...watched a couple Luther last night and all fine as well as some tennis. Messing around on coders and renders does not achieve much. I have tried CCC 11.4 .5 .6 no real change but yesterday all was working fine , even DVB-s2 Quote

Acccording to this link ATI have announced that this issue will be fixed with CCC 11.7 due out on 27 July http://www.manikata.com/tecchie/DVBViewer/pictures/artefacts.jpg Hope they get it right. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?p=50995196 Quote
