Kuni Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 you have problems with the 4.8.1, version, or why you want a new one? a new version appears when it is finished New features. I believe that is the whole point of continual development. Unless of course you're trying to continually fix broken software which DVB isn't.... I didn't expect a real reply, and am already happy to see I was right. Quote
hackbart Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Well to be honest right now we have a lot work which causes a few delays. I do not pinpoint to the nagging phonecalls and emails, but there are several things which has to be cleared before we release anything. As you might read between the lines we added some exotic adapters (Hauppauge PVR Encoder) to allow people who are forced by their content providers to use such a slope chicken in order to watch TV on their PC. We also integrated support for Youtube/Vimeo?/Podcasts, and i'm still in discussion to get more content for the video on demand engine. Even if this runs fine, it also requires a lot of tests. As you can see the VOD feature is almost complete: Christian Quote
McenterFreak Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Thanks Christian for your preview of upcomming features like Youtube etc. I must be honest, i would have prefered that the developers have used time to make DVBViewer a REAL mediacenter solution. Integrating a sleek user interface, from where you could control all your media, like Music, Photos, Videos, DVDs, BR etc. I do know that it is, somehow, integrated now, but to be true, all chritsism in the forums i visit, is always focused on the "ugly" interface (i know it can be skinned, but stil not good enough), and lack of user friendlyness. But most users, including myselve, points out that the main reason to continue using DVBViewer is ITS ROCK SOLID AND STABLE, and i can't live without Recording Service, thanks for that Quote
Kuni Posted August 25, 2011 Author Posted August 25, 2011 Thanks Christian, Maybe every 2 weeks you could offer such an insight into current work being done on DVBViewer, perhaps a blog? Quote
