betaman Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) OK...so here is the deal... I have been using DVBViwer since version 3.9 I have a server which is runing win xp and has a skystar 2 with DVBServer. I have a desktop and 3 laptops which runs DVBViewer using unicast (always 1 at a time). Everything was ok until I decided to format my MSI N011 (wind U100) netbook and install windows 7 home 32bit. On my 1st attempt using DVBViwer I had BSOD's untill I changed the EVR renderer to VM9. This worked for a while untill it crashed with a BSOD again for no reason and now gives me BSOD each time I run DVBViewer right when it's supposed to open the main window. I have updated my vga drivers to the newest but with no luck. I have the latest k lite codecs installed and I'm using ffdshow as decoder. The BSOD is titled BAD_POOL_CALLER . Any suggestions ? QBox User Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Developers would probably appreciate a support file, maybe with debug on. Check link at top of page for details on how to create. I would remove those codecs to eliminate possible causes. EVR is normally recommended for Windows 7. Quote
betaman Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 OK...here is the support.zip. As far as the codecs are concerned without them you only have the windows codecs which are the worst beside all of my PCs have the same codecs. supporttool.zip Quote
betaman Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 OK, problem solved by updating to DVBViwer 4.9. Now even EVR works... Quote

Windows 7 codecs are quite different to XP (and Vista). I find they work well enough for H264 and MPEG, though AC3 is flaky. Quote

Tjod Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 ffdshow much better than win 7 embedded and support DXVANot with DVBViewer! Quote
betaman Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) Not with DVBViewer! Not in what way ? Doesn't support dxva ? It's not better ? Not faster ? Please respond, maybe I should reconsider using it with DVBViewer... Which brings me to another question, how can I use my vga to speed up decoding in DVBViewer ? I have an ATI card in my server and although I can play HD video (using MPC + ffdshow DXVA) when I try to watch HD channels on DVBViewer it's a disaster !!! Edited September 30, 2011 by betaman Quote
Tjod Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 DXVA in ffdshow is ported from the MPC Video Decoder. And the MPC H.264 Video Decoder doesn't work with the DVBViewer. http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/29657-ffdshow-h264-decoder-with-DVBViewer/ Quote
