Dual Tuner DVB-S2 owners come and help me out please

I have been having some problems with my dual tuner DVB-S2 card which is a Mystique dual DVB-S2 PCI-e card and is based upon a card by Digital Devices.

I would like to confirm whether this works correctly for people with other dual DVB-S2 cards. Therefore if you are willing to give this a try then please do so and post your results and include your card make & model.

First make sure that video/audio is enabled, then tune to a a TV channel, preferably a H.264 Hi Def channel and start recording. Note the Tuner being used.

Then tune to another channel, preferably again a H.264 Hi Def channel and start recording.

Now open Recording Statistics and in the recordings click on the first recording which should not be showing video in DVBViewer and right click and select stop timer. Now check the stream errors on the remaining recording and note the result.

It's important to stop the recording of the channel which is not being shown in the DVBViewer window.

Repeat this a few times with different channels and report any stream errors that are generated.

This would help me a lot as I have tried other TV software [ahem rUbbiSH] and could not reproduce the problem although I couldn't get one application which supported dual/multiple tuners effectively and had to use two separate applications to use both tuners. None of them has reports of errors either, which doesn't help.

I suspect that I have a card fault but need verification before RMAing it.

A significant amount of DVBViewer users must have dual tuner Satellite cards and therefore could very easily test this for me. I need confirmation that this problem doesn't affect other Satellite cards before I RMA it. The people who sell this card can be very difficult with RMA's, trying to claim the fault lies with people's PC's and not their Satellite cards, hence my request. I need all the evidence that I can get.

Therefore, will someone please check this for me, it won't take long thanks to DVBViewer's recording Statistics. TS analysis isn't necessary like with other software.

Thanks for doing that.

It's interesting that you have the Mystique card yourself. There have been a lot of revisions of this card and I purchased mine as soon as they became available.

The first revision required a separate daughter PCI-e board/card to enable the CI module. I'm not certain whether they revised the chipset before releasing the all in one cards.

I have already had two of these cards and both have experienced stream errors. The first was far worse than the current one. It showed stream errors in Transedit when changing channels and the seller confirmed that it was faulty. The card that I have, I believe that they missed these errors because it is much harder to get it to produce errors using Transedit than the first card. However recording using both tuners and it is very easy to produce errors and it frequently ruins my recordings.

I recognise your username from the German forum and if that is you then I know that you have experienced some problems with the card yourself. Didn't you want a refund and later RMA'd the card?

A post on that forum, if it is yours, suggests you had to RMA your card for the same problems that I have experienced in both my cards.

Did you finally get a working v1 card?
