majstang Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Hi Griga! It seems more and more channels are ditching the hardcoded subs and replaces them with teletext subs or DVB subtitles. I'm using TSPlayer 2.3 for fileplay quite extensively. All recordings from these channels contain teletext subs and they play fine within the Pro. Im having troubles getting the teletext subs working in TSPlayer though. To allow TSPlayer to accurately detetct all streams i've set the "Search Depth" to 100MB. Doesn't matter if setting it to 500MB, TSPlayer only detects the "initial page" in the teletext descriptor. The initial page is the actual teletext page number 100. The Subtitles does not get detected at all. Same thing if testing TSPlayer 2.3.3. Any ideas how get another results? Regards majstang Quote
Griga Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 i've set the "Search Depth" to 100MB The search depth has no influence on whether teletext subtitles are found or not. It may have influence on whether the teletext stream as a whole is found or not. TSPlayer only detects the "initial page" in the teletext descriptor. TSPlayer doesn't examine the teletext descriptor content. Subtitles are found by examining the teletext page headers. Sorry, but your report doesn't tell me what's going on. Please provide a step-by-step description of your proceeding and a sample, if possible. Quote

Here is a 100MB sample: http://speedy.sh/eV6us/20111217-09-29-01-Animal-Planet-Apornas-varld-cut.ts I dont think a step-by-step description is needed, cuz the sample is pretty telling what is going wrong. In the "Available streams" window, yes, TSPlayer finds the teletext page header, but only the initial page. If TSPlayer would have found the subtitles i imagined there would be a plus symbol making it possible to browse the subtitle tree and select one out of the four languages available. The initial page box cant be selected either. Quote

No problem to watch the subtitles here. If TSPlayer would have found the subtitles i imagined there would be a plus symbol making it possible to browse the subtitle tree You are expecting too much. Just a case of being too lazy to read the manual or to have a look at the Videotext Tab. Ctrl [+] [-] Next / preceding subtitle page Please don't steal my time with reports like this. Quote

That was embarrassing, I did completely miss that subtitle key combo. I'm so sorry for that! Now, i'm afraid even mention the troubles i ran into when using the subtitle key combo, with risk of getting an another berating. I would hate to waste Grigas time any further. If reading the manual it says "Displaying subtitles requires Overlay Mode" and it certainly does. The Overlay Mode is the only one displaying the subs correct. Overlay Mode is not something i would contemplate to use in Win7. I suppose this is the end for using the TSplayer altogether. It works displaying the subs with the EVR renderer, but when enabeling the teletext subs i can't get rid of the (blackend out) initial teletext page that covers the main part of the video window. It looks like this: Quote
