IanL Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 After years of correct functioning, the following problem has recently arisen: The Recording Service is functioning correctly, placing the recordings in the correct folder, but the displayed list of recordings is not being updated with the new recordings. In addition, some listed recordings refuse to be deleted. The problems are identical using the DVBViewer user interface or the Recording Service web interface. I have installed the latest DVBViewer version 9, and reinstalled the Recording Service, but the problems persist. Is there perhaps a way of forcing the recordings list to update from the folder of recordings?
IanL Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Sorry I forgot the support.zip Don't get to do this very often! support.zip
Lars_MQ Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 06.02.12 21:40:05.090 SvcDatabase.db3 UpdateRecorded: Could not retrieve data.Error [13]: Insertion failed because database is full. "select idRecord from recordings where (Filename) = 'f:\DVBViewer recordings\02-06_21-40-05_bbc 1 ci_the diamond queen.mpg'": database or disk is full It seems there is a problem with your database file/ the disk the file resides on. sqlite is not able to access it. Please check the access rights to the db folder in the config folder. You could try to cleanup and refresh the recordings database via the webinterface -> tasks page.
IanL Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Lars, Many thanks. My Database folder is not in the config folder - it is on the same level as the config folder. I think it was corrupt. I deleted it and did the cleanup and refresh, and everything now works perfectly again
majstang Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Just wanted to say i have had quite big problems with SQL errors locking up the database with RS 1.9.3 as well (didnt see it with 1.9.2). From svcdebug.log: 09.02.12 16:28:13.197 SvcDatabase.db3 UpdateRecorded: Error executing SQL statement.Error [5]: The database file is locked. Cant say exactly what is causing it. One can notice somethings isnt right when no tooltip pops up when mouseover on recordings. Streaming still works thou. What worse is when stopping RS it cant be restarted and when rebooting PC it takes about 5-10 minutes for Windows to close and then bluescreen. Error 1053 and 9f code. Tracing system logs gives errors 7031, 7009 and 7000 for the Service Control Manager. Just deleted the svcdatabase as well and will see if things gets better. Edited February 9, 2012 by majstang
QBox User Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I get occasional code 9f errors resulting in blue-screen failures. The definition in the crash dump is "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) A driver is causing an inconsistent power state." I believe it's related to my USB tuner. BSOD occurs exactly 10 minutes after waking from sleep mode - that's the timer length. Do you have the database on a USB drive?

BSOD occurs exactly 10 minutes after waking from sleep mode - that's the timer length. Do you have the database on a USB drive? Sorry to hear...that sounds to be a nasty one! No, the database is located on an internal drive. For me the BSOD always occurs during reboot and always when RS has crashed and database can't be released (even if closing all processes related to RS). If RS hasn't crashed reboot goes well. My minidump doesn't suggest a power state failure. Yes, most BSOD are usually related to drivers and i had some major hardware changes done lately (new RAM memory and graphicscard HD7970), so i wouldn't be surprised if it's the new AMD driver acting up, but it's fishy cuz the BSOD seem to be so closely interrelated with the RS database crash. Perhaps you have other tuners besides the USB one and are abled to test without it? I assume you already have played around with the "Reset after Standby" option in RS/Hardware? Many tuner drivers react badly with that "hack" enabled. Just a long shot, never seen a case this option could cause BSOD, so nevermind it. regards majstang
majstang Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Just wanted to give my appreciation to the developer, cuz i havent had a single SQL error locking up the database since upgrading to RS 1.9.4 and 1.9.4.1. No BSOD while rebooting the system either (reinstalled all BDA drivers). It works great. Thanks
