krasno Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) Hello An urgent question. I'm at work, so I can'y send supporttool.zip right now.. and need it to work very fast when I come home (Soccer Denmark against Russia.) SO any good fast recovery ideas are welcome.. ( I arrive at home 20 min. before game start..and so do 8 other people.. !!) I realized this morning that all settings in DVBViewer was gone, also all EPG data in Recordservice where gone. When I start Dvbv. it behave like a first time installation, means I have to start to enter all settings from scratz, can't choose "use old settings" or what it is called.. (I pressed cancel in first install screen not to destroyeventually old settings if they still are there somewhere) I left PC working in standby-mode to record a timer yesterday evening ( and everything worked/ DVBV. could start, and EPG data was there) During night timer where not recorded, and PC still in stand-by mode when I woke up, and so where dvbv. installation, but folders are still there. THANX a gazillion for any help.!! -and sorry I can not post Supporttool.zip right now.. Edited February 29, 2012 by krasno Quote
QBox User Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 If setup.xml has gone bad, you may be able to restore from setup.bak, if it didn't get overwritten already. You should try to back-up this file occasionally in another folder (or with another name). Quote

krasno Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Hello.. setup.xml was not to find anywhere, also not .bak.. so I reinstalled dvbv. in turbo speed, (less than 4 min !!)and now it works again All channel lists and so on where intact! But do wonder what went wrong with the setup.xml file??.. But thanx anyway ..and we lost to russia, Ok if russia had played good, but seriously both teams where sooo bad.. a real training match where nobody took it serious. waste of time to watch, but dvbv. works again and that's something:) Quote
