Encrypted network stream

I work for a broadcasting compagny, and we have just implemented DVB-T2, and are using a TS Monitor that have the feature to stream a program from the monitored multiplex, to a the managment PC you are controlling it from.

However the stream I want to watch, are encryped, as its the last spot before we transmit it on air, and therefor I cant just open it with VLCviewer, as I can with the free to air program we transmit.

I was wondering if DVBViewer would be able to recieve this stream, and decrypt it with a CI module? (I have a setup with a Hauppauge WinTV-CI-USB2 and a DVB-T reciver that works fine, but when I try to add a unicast network device, the External CI pulldown window gets grayed out ).

The TS monitor gives me a .xsfp file, that opens up in VLCViewer.

Any thoughts on this setup?

Best regards

Mike

The CI is tighly integrated into the receiving hardware and can't be accessed (=feed streams) from the outside.

BTW you should use an IPTV Device not an unicast device. While you can't watch the stream you will be able to analyze it with transedit and an iptv device.

Ohh, I figured, when the CI and the DVB-T reciever was two seperate USB devices, that it would be possible to utilize the CI for descrampling a network stream as well :-/
