Shrubsole Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) I've install LAV Filters (even the latest ones) and when I playback a HD mpeg-ts file of a TV show that I have recorded, it plays just fine. However, should I try to seek (mostly to jump over the adverts) I just get a black screen. If I then click the "Pause" button twice (Pausing and then playing) it plays fine again from where I have moved the seek to. So if I try seeking on a TS file I get black screen (No audio or video playing) and have to pause and play to get it playing again. It doesn't do this with any other codec only LAV filters. It also doesn't do it on SD mpeg files only TS ones. Any ideas as I like LAV filters, but this bug is very annoying. Griga Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 HD mpeg-ts file H.264 or MPEG2 video? Seeking issues may also be caused by other DirectShow components, particularly the splitter/demultiplexer, the audio decoder... if you want your settings to be checked, take a look at the top of this page: "How to post problems/bugs correctly". Lars_MQ Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 My guess: a LAV problem. Since all other codecs work it would be most likely a case for a bug report for LAV not the DVBViewer. Quote
Shrubsole Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Oh I wasn't trying to blame anyone or anything, just wondered if anything else had this problem and if they knew how to fix it. In media info it reports the video as: ID : 512 (0x200) Menu ID : 3850 (0xF0A) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@L4.0 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames Format settings, GOP : M=4, N=12 Codec ID : 27 Duration : 54s 740ms Bit rate : 16.8 Mbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Interlaced Scan order : Top Field First Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.324 Stream size : 110 MiB (93%) Color primaries : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4, SMPTE RP177 Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361 Matrix coefficients : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4 709, SMPTE RP177 Is the AVC format bit correct as I have DVBViewer set to LAV video and Audio on everything? uglyned Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I have some issues with LAV filters but overall they're still the most suitable for me so I stick with them. Sometimes after I resume from pause, the video and audio become out of sync and I need to do a quick rewind, just for a second or so, and then they re-sync. Sometimes after a resume from pause the video freezes for a while, although the audio continues, then after maybe 10 or 20 seconds there is a brief pause, then video and audio both resume correctly. Like Lars says, other filters don't display this issue (although they're not suitable for me for other reasons) so probably a LAV issue, just thought I'd mention it in case it helps anyone. Quote
Stephaen Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Same problem with LAV Video Decoder 0.50.5 and I found the solution! (it was working well before, I changed something and then also had playback freezing when seeking, either with live TV or recordings.) Warning: the solution below works with my own HW/SW setup, it may not work with yours... - go the LAV Video Decoder settings: "DVBViewer -> View -> Filters -> LAV Video Decoder" - change "DXVA2 (native)" setting to "DXVA2 (copy-back)" in "Hardware Decoder to use" - go to "DVBViewer -> View" and click "Rebuild graph" -> that's it! Now DVBViewer won't freeze when you seek Stephaen P.S.1: I don't know if the problem is related to DVBViewer, LAV Video Decoder, Direct Show or Graphic card drivers... P.S.2: @Lars_MQ & Griga: I really found a big bug in DVB Recording service and/or DVBViewer and/or dvbv_tvg.exe and/or Recording control TV-Browser plug-in but forgot to inform you (sorry, it's not that I'm lazy but I'm doing myself technical support in a TV related company and sometimes forget to report bugs when I'm back home ;-). However, I described the solution to the problem in the thread below (please read carefully). To make it simple: when using the "all user" mode while installing DVBViewer, it is not possible to use DVBViewer Pro, DVBViewer Recording Service, dvbv_tvg.exe and Recording control TV-Browser plug-in correctly. http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/47399-cannot-delete-timer-with-commandline-plugin/ P.S.3: my setup (extracts): Win7 64 bits, DVBViewer 4.9.6.20. DVB Recording service 1.9.6.0, dvbv_tvg.exe 1.2.3.0, TV-Browser 3.1, Recording control TV-Browser plug-in 3.1.0.0, AMD Radeon HD 6670, graphic card driver unknown!!! (I installed several time the last 12.4 CCC driver and got a successful finish but CCC still says I have a 12.3 driver !?!) Quote
