andyyau Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Maybe this can be of some help: http://epgcollector.sourceforge.net/ I do not know the nuts and bolts of this app. If the import cannot go to the Recording Service but the DVBViewer only, the Xepg should be able to do the job. The Xepg will construct unique EventIDs. This seems very good to use. Will try it later. Thanks!
Tjod Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Add: Tweaks: „ClearEPGBeforeUpdate" added. This Tweak clear all EPG entries before an EPG update. See Tweaker. This will may be help, if you add a "Internal Task timer" > Start EPG Scan at the time where you provider resets the EPG IDs.
Delphi Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 - An event ID should not be re-used within 90 days (which is no problem, because there are 65536 different ones). Maybe a bit off topic? Is the eventID a 16 bit number? (65536 different ones) If yes it is not true that Xepg produces unique eventIDs. I assume it is 32 bit! (4294967296 different ones)
Lars_MQ Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Internally the DVBViewer/RS uses a 32 bit value for the eventID. Der EIT uses a 16 bit value which fits without doubt into the 32 bit value
Delphi Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Thx Lars, you just saved my ar.. The eventIDs generated by Xepg are not reused within 10 years then Well, my idea of suggesting going around an XMLTV file was that there are no eventIDs in that, so anyone who imports an XMLTV file should construct unique eventIDs.
Paul Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Installed Recording Service 1.20 two days with Tweaks ClearEPGBeforeUpdate setting, no EPG problem anymore on TVB channel. Just a minor problem, after EPG is updated, open DVBViewer main program will see no EPG on TVB channels, exit the DVBViewer and start again, all EPG will come back. Edited August 30, 2012 by Paul
Paul Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) With DVBViewer 5.0 still need restart to reload EPG data from recording service. Is there any method to reload the EPG data from recording service by shortcut key or a scheduled task? Edited January 5, 2013 by Paul
Paul Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Service get EPG=8276 I tried -x8276 parameter but it seems does not work in this case.
majstang Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Well, it works fine for me. I added this EPG Update action (8276) to input and learned a shortcut key to launch the command. DVBViewer then fetches the content from RS epg.dat and imports it to the DVBViewer epg.dat.

After restarted DVBIewer the EPG back to normal until next update on Recording Service.

Is ClearEPGBeforeUpdate only available for 1.20? When it was released, I could set it successfully. But after installing newer versions, I cannot find it any more. There is a program called TWEAK, is this the one to set? Edited February 23, 2013 by andyyau
majstang Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 In the DVBViewer folder there is a file called RSTweaker.bat. Start it and you will find what you are searching for.
