majstang
Just a small inquiry having little importance in the big picture. I was tinkering around in options/hardware menu and do wondering if there is a point why "tuner type" box does not get grayed out if one uses virtual devices? I mean RS owns the tuner (and there the tuner type is set) and from there it is just network traffic over to client virtual devices. The virtual devices are not tuners and yet if selecting the wrong tuner type in DVBViewer they stop working. If disabeling tuner type box for virtual devices chances for streaming working straightaway increases, which is good for both old and new users. Quote Link to comment
Griga
Consider different tuner types available in the recording service resp. server. The tuner type of the (client) virtual device tells the server which tuner type is requested. Transmitting the tuner type resp. modulation system is also part of the SAT>IP specifications, e.g. msys=dvbs, msys=dvbs2, msys=dvbt etc. Additionally a virtual device has to transmit different kinds of transponder parameters depending on the tuner type. So it must be clearly defined. Quote Link to comment
