DVBv hangs when trying to scan

DVBViewer 5.3.1 + Recording Service 1.30.0.0 (freshly installed), Windows 7 x64 on AS Rock Z87 Extreme 4 motherboard and WinTV Nova HD-S2 sat. card.

I was running 5.3.0/1.29 and when I went to scan to see if any new channels had been added, as soon as I pressed 'Scan' from either the Favourites drop-down or from within the channel editor, the video continued but the program completely hung and the only way to end it was to 'End task' in Windows Task Manager.

I have just upgraded to 5.3.1/1.30 (and rebooted) and it's still the same so I'm surprised that it hasn't been noticed before. Could it be something else in my setup (lots of stuff installed so it'll be hard to confirm that) or is it being looked at? Any ideas?

In the relevant svcdebug.log I can't see any scanning activities. Apparently you were just watching BBC HD. Though there are some strange PIDs listed that are not on this transponder (remark for experts only ;) )

What did you do to perform a scan? I've added a screen shot to show how it should look like..

Run the DVBViewer once with the Parameter -reset

Enter in the input filed in the start menu

DVBViewer.exe -reset

this will reset all DVBViewer window positions.

The problem is that the channel scan window gets the focus.

But its position is beside you desktop.

Oh dear, I feel really stupid. Tjod's mention that the reset command would reset window positions make me think to power on my second monitor (which I rarely use) and there was the scan window! There was nothing wrong after all.

So sorry, the problem was entirely mine - an idiot at the controls! Please delete this thread to save me further embarrassment. :)
