This page: http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Options_Hardware#Device is different from: http://de.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Optionen_Hardware#Einstellungen. So I have some questions to clarify: I'm working in a complex network (campus network) with multiple streaming services and multiple subnets, mainly for research pourposes. Some of the services are: a ) Full Transport Streams (multiple channels from sat and terrestrial services) in MULTICAST mode. b ) Single Programs in a TS (filtered channels with custom PMT/PAT tables ) in MULTICAST mode. c ) Single Programs in a TS (some only audio/video pids, some with PMT/PAT tables) in HTTP UNICAST mode. So, my questions are: 1) For channels in "c" the best option is use the "DVB File Device", it's this right? 2) For channels in "a" and "b", the best option is ? 3) For the "IPTV Network Device" the tuner type is fixed to "DVB-IPTV", but for the rest of devices I can select the type. Why this limitation? It's possible to "map" frequencies to multicast/unicast addresses (like in the internal configuration of the "File Device") ? I wait for your answers. Thank you! Nevertheless, the URL http://www.DVBViewer.com/griga/TransEdit%20E/Content.html is already commented in the forum, but I don't know where are the instrucctions to add new channels using multicast addresses. Please, can you point to a more descriptive page that the home? Sorry if this has previously responsed in the forum, but after search for this I don't found the response. Related to quesiton 3: It will be possible in the future to use these Multicast IPTV sources as "frequencies" ? Mainly for the Recording Service. And related to question 1: It's the "DVB File Device" the only way to support streams of type "c" ? My objective is to use the Recording Service as a central server emulating multiple tuners for network clients using the SAT>IP protocol. Ok, I'll try this. So I don't need any scanning, because I know the multicast addresses of the streams. About c ) I think yes Ok, so until the RS implements the "DVB File Device" is not possible to record these streams, right? And, related to the question of map these streams to frequencies: Can the tuner type "DVB-IPTV" be mapped to "Satellite" or "Terrestrial" to use it as sources for SAT>IP clients? So that you can simulate with a transponder dump, of a other person, what is happening there. Therefore you can set reception type and other parameters. In general DVBViewer and RS change as little as possible. Formats are only altered if there is a god reason for that. 1 Quote Link to comment

So, then what I really need is the "DVB File Device" inside the RS, that as commented in another thread is a feature to be included in the future. But this suggestion has low priority at time (not for me, but I understand the reasons). In any case, please, don't think that the "DVB File Device" is only a "testing" suite: is the most valuable option of the DVBViewer because you can ingest any transport stream into your software using a URL. Also, I like to comment that (from my point of view) the DVBViewer Recording Service is the killer-app, and not the viewer. Quote Link to comment

But, for me the "mapping" function is a must have! I like to serve some "external" streams (network TS streams in multicast/unicast/http) to regular SAT>IP clients, so I need that RS has support for it. Regards! Quote Link to comment
