Viewing VOD content via HbbTV does not work properly

When I try to view VOD content of the SBS channels in the Netherlands via HbbTV the content is not shown in the HbbTV overlay. Se the following screenshots:

Start the selected VOD episode.

qmz1wMv.png

The selected content seems to start playing, but nothing is shown.

After pressing <ESC> I return to the DVBViewer mode and there the VOD content is shown:

I have tried updating the LAV filters to version 0.63.0, but that did not solve this problem. I am using DVBViewer Pro V5.3.2.0 with MHEG5 V 1.0.0.11 and hbbTVRPC V 1.0.0.1 according to the DVBViewer about box. Anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

Tjod is right, we need the support zip created after you started the DVBViewer in debug mode. The reason is that we have no other way to get the information what went wrong and to test the hbbtv content here. I suppose it can be fixed by updating the global settings file stored on our server.

I will make the support.zip. In the meanwhile a screenshot of the HbbTV configuration of the Net 5 channel:

Maybe it is accessible from Germany in a test HbbTV configuration.

Can I send it to hackbart via PM? Some paths in the zip contain my name and I do not want to make that available on the internet.

If you have you name (pc name) in some paths on you pc and you change some folders in the configuration e.g. the recording folder to a sub folder of the user folder. Than the name can end up in the support.zip.

In the default configuration there should be no personal information in the support.zip.

I tried the links but somehow the server tells me that i need an authorization for playback of videos. I will cheat and play something else till then, but the service overall seem to be a bit beta. It is quite annoying that the "rode knop" is only accepted while the icon is visible.

Thanks, I do not have a clue what you did at your end, but it works:

Is it possible that you explain how you have fixed this without me having to install an update or change DVBViewer settings?

The problem is that during Windows 7 installation user folders are created based on the user name and these pop-up in some configuration files. Since hackbart was already able to solve the problem there is no need for me anymore to upload the support.zip. Thanks for your support.

The DVBViewer updates the configuration folder\hbbtv.xml at start up if there is a new version of this file.

Therefore it is possible to react fast on changes on hbbtv websites.

PS: By default the DVBViewer uses C:\Users\Public (and C:\ProgramData\CMUV) which has no user name in it ;)

The largest digital TV providers in the Netherlands (Ziggo/UPC/KPN) are trying to obstruct the use of HbbTV in favor for their own proprietary "Interactive" services based on other closed platforms. As a result the adoptation and development of HbbTV is very slow. My provider, Ziggo, is deliberately removing the AIT elementary streams of the channels so we can no longer use the HbbTV functionality. Somehow they have forgotten to do this for three channels, so a good opportunity for me to test the functionality of my DVBViewer HbbTV plugin with their HbbTV content.

By the way, is it possible to somehow manually configure the HbbTV URL for each channel in DVBViewer as some sort of bypass for the missing AIT stream mechanism? I know most HbbTV URL's for the Dutch TV channels, so it would be nice if there would be an optional DVBViewer plugin or configuration page to manually add those URL's (for instance the same way channel logo's can be manually added).

What kind of URLs? MP4 videos "on demand" or live transportstreams (TS)?

DVBViewer GE (that does not support HbbTV) already allows to add such URLs to the channellist. They are played by using the LAV Source Filter, that internally uses ffmpeg. However, the streams cannot be recorded like DVB channels. Though they are administered as channels they are rather played like files. The upcoming GE release will additionally enable transportstream URLs in the channellist that are handled like "normal" DVB channels, which means, the streams can be recorded, displayed as picture in picture etc. There are several channels in Germany that can be selected in DVB-T HbbTV portals, but the transportstream is distributed via internet in order to save the DVB costs. Additionally DVBViewer GE will support receiving HLS (which is a segmented transportstream) in the same way, thus offering a wide variety of internet TV.

Plans are to also add this functionality in DVBViewer Pro in future.

What kind of URLs?

The HbbTV entry URL's as shown in the the AIT. So based on the AIT screenshot above I would like to manually configure the baseURL_0 value combined with the InitialPath value, so http://hbb.sbsnet.nl/hbbtv/net5.php, for the Net5 TV channel as a bypass of the missing AIT elementary stream to start the HbbTV engine of DVBViewer.

More or less the same as using that HbbTV entry URL in the HbbTV plugin of FireFox:

BKqwr0V.png

sUAJcQ0.png

So instead of triggering the HbbTV engine of DVBViewer based on the AIT elementary stream content when zapping to the TV channel, the engine could (optionally) also be triggered by the manually configured HbbTV entry URL in the HbbTV configuration of DVBViewer. That way I would no longer be depending on my provider that currently is filtering out all AIT elementary streams of TV channels.

I think that will not happen (connecting additional informations with the channel list is in the DVBViewer only possible via workarounds).

But you could maintain you own list of HbbTV URLs and open the pages independently from the channel you are currently watching.

The Topic about the hbbTV_customload is currently only in German.

http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/52961-hbbtv-custom-load/

In short copy the hbbTV_customload.exe anf hbbTV customload install.bat in the DVBViewer folder and run the hbbTV customload install.bat (while the DVBViewer is closed)

Then you can add URLs in C:\ProgramData\my_scripts\hbbTV_CustomLoad_config.ini

and access them via OSD Menu [Esc] > hbbTV Websites

Probably I do not understand your reaction, but is that custom load mechanism not the same is the Browser section in hbbtv.xml:

<Browser>
<item Title="Putpat TV" URL="http://www.putpat.tv/cehtml/v2/index.cehtml?channel_id=2"/>
<item Title="Cinedom" URL="http://smarttv.nexxcdn.com/310/"/>
<item Title="BBC iPlayer" URL="http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/"/>
<item Title="Bild" URL="http://json.bild.de/tv/cehtml.cehtml"/>
<item Title="Die Presse" URL="http://diepresse.com/nettv/#Start"/>
<item Title="HTTV Portal" URL="http://www.httv-hosting.fr/hbbtv/portal/"/>
<item Title="iConcerts" URL="http://www3.iconcerts.com/?q=en/netTV"/>
<item Title="Jena TV" URL="http://tv.mytvscout.de/jenatv/"/>
<item Title="Potsdam TV" URL="http://tv.mytvscout.de/potsdamtv/"/>
<item Title="Napster" URL="http://projects.tune-in-media.com/napster/net-tv/live/"/>
<item Title="TED Talks" URL="http://ted.24imedia.tv/nettv/"/>
<item Title="Youtube" URL="http://www.youtube.com/leanback" IsHbbTV="1" StopVideo="1"/>
<item Title="MySpass" URL="http://philips.hybridtv.myspass.de/philips" IsHbbTV="1" StopVideo="1"/>
<item Title="Debug Console" URL="debug"/>
</Browser>

The problem with that mechanism is that there is no way to link a certain browser URL to a TV channel (or is it called TV station?) like a certain manually channel logo is automatically loaded when the user zaps to that channel. With the browser mechanism in hbbtv.xml I have to go through a list of entries and look for the HbbTV entry I want to start.

Maybe a code snippet explains better what I would like with the manual HbbTV URL configuration plugin:

private void Events_OnChannelChange(int ChannelNr)

{

if (ChannelNr != -1)

{

if (dvbv.HbbTV.IsAvailable == true)

{

if (dvbv.CurrentChannel.Name.StartsWith("Net 5 HD"))

{

dvbv.HbbTV.LoadInBrowser("http:////hbb.sbsnet.nl//hbbtv//sbs6.php", true);

dvbv.HbbTV.Visible = true;

}

}

}

}

So when the user zapps to the "Net 5 HD" channel the HbbTV URL is loaded by the plugin in the HbbTV browser engine and shown. The plugin could load these manual configured URL's for instance from an INI file with the following content:

[Manual_HbbTV]
SBS 6 HD = http://hbb.sbsnet.nl/hbbtv/sbs6.php
Veronica HD/Disney XD = http://hbb.sbsnet.nl/hbbtv/veronica.php
Net 5 HD = http://hbb.sbsnet.nl/hbbtv/net5.php

Or the plugin could have a fancy configuration GUI that lets the user enter the key value pairs of known HbbTV URL's for channels.

I have tried the (C#) code snippet above and it works, but sadly I do not have Delphi to make a DVBViewer plugin that can be automatically loaded. Also documentation of the DVBViewer API is out-dated which does not help with the development of plugins.

P.S. Why does this board not support the BB code tags?
