alien
Hi, I am absolutely new to DVBViewer. I have downloaded the demo version and browsed the forum to get the follow question answered, but so far no success. I am trying to find out if the DVBViewer is able to handle the following format for streams, in particular the X-Forwarded-For parameter. http://my.link.net/go/here@90210/mstr.m3u8|X-Forwarded-For=10.10.10.10 Background: I am a Kodi user and I am looking for a way to watch and record those streams. Thank you for your help, A Quote Link to comment
Tjod
No, the current version doesn't support HLS Streams at all. Griga is working on HLS support. The next DVBViewer GE (playback and recodings) and TransEdit version will support it. Support in DVBViewer Pro and Recording Service is planned but my take some time. So my be not in the next version of them. And X-Forwarded-For is not supported in the current internal version. Quote Link to comment
alien
Hi Tjod, thank you very much for your quick and detailed reply! One quick follow-up question, as I did not understand the last sentence - what do you mean with 'internal' version? I did not get that. Thanks, A Quote Link to comment
Tjod
There is currently a DVBViewer GE/TransEdit Beta. But it is only available for "official" Betatester. So not every DVBViewer user can try it. Quote Link to comment

Griga
No, the current version doesn't support HLS Streams at all. That's not correct. DVBViewer Pro supports HLS playback via Playback -> Open URL, but no X-Forwarded-For parameter. However, the upcoming DVBViewer GE release will provide a more sophisticated implementation. It enables HLS streams in the channellist and maybe using special parameters... we'll see. Quote Link to comment
Tjod
The DVBViewer Pro can play nearly everything if the matching filter is installed on the system. But recordings are not possible. Quote Link to comment
Griga
HLS support is implemented in the VOD Source Filter (by Christian), that is part of the DVBViewer installation. The LAV Source Filter supports HLS by using the ffmpeg implementation, but in my experience it is almost unusable. Quote Link to comment
