clashcityrocker Posted May 8, 2015 Share Posted May 8, 2015 Been hapilly using DVBViewer to stream RTL to my PS3 (to watch non paywall F1). Last week I sold my PS3. Then I remembered I have no working alternative!!!! My PS4 has no streaming video or Dlna (currently). The Chromecast and allplay app doesn't seem to like the DVBViewer dlna stream. Tried all sorts of other faffing around with zero results. Anyone got any suggestions (that aren't get another Ps3). I would ideally like to get Chromecast working. clashcityrocker Posted May 9, 2015 Author Share Posted May 9, 2015 (edited) Well I managed to watch Qualifying today, after much hacking with no real results, I ended up plugging my Chromebook into the TV via HDMI, and opening a fullscreen webpage with a transcoded stream from DVBViewer. I used the attached batch files with an embedded web server (mongoose) to control the stream and provide a HTML5 web player that Chrome liked. It worked reasonably well, It needs VLC installed to work, I put all these files into DVBViewer program directory and ran the start transcode batch file. You can then browse to your PC's IP address port 8080. Don't forget to run the stop transcode batch file when you are done, as it will set them consuming CPU.. If anyone has some suggestions for the VLC encode commandline that would make a Chromecast and AllPlay work, I would be glad to hear them, as it means I don't need to put my Chromebook infront of the TV. Alternatively, some settings that would make the PS4 web browser play the video stream, that would also help me along...
