guppy_0 Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Hi, I've just purchased the airstar2 and I am very hapy with the product. So I thought I would post as a newbie. My only concern with it is that when I select the Cyberlink Audio Decoder for the audio, it only puts out a PCM signal. Whereas if I play an AVI with ac3, it normally uses the CAD correctly and I get DD 5.1. The recoded streams work fine but it is just the ac3 does not work in DVBViewer. I have tried multiple settings such as: It keeps using the Sonic Cineplayer decoder for audio, video no matter what. It's like it's Sonic decoders or nothing. If I uninstall the Sonic Cineplayer altogether I cannot get any sound whatsoever. The Cine player apparently only gives you a stero ac3 signal anyway but I can't even get that. I have tried playing with the audio preferences in zoom player with no luck, lowering the likely usage of the decoder does not chage anything. Meaning it uses the CAD but does not pass ac3 through to the receiver. I have selected CAD in the options of DVB. It says that it's selected but does not decode properly and when I go to a ac3 channel I get no picture and sound. It's fine with the other channels. No matter what decoder is used. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Kai Quote
Unauthorized Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Please try AC3Filter. And maybe search the forum for existing threads about this topic. Perhaps there's also something inside the DVBViewer manual. Quote
guppy_0 Posted December 14, 2004 Author Posted December 14, 2004 I have tried that filter in the past and have had many problems with conflicts with CAD I have been playing with it since and cannot find a stable config. I tried searching the forums first of all for an answer, but only found mainly german posts So what would you recommend, i'm not aware of anything in the manual for this problem? Kai Quote
guppy_0 Posted December 14, 2004 Author Posted December 14, 2004 I solved the problem! By telling DVB not to use the CAD at all by setting the preference as don't use, then I can use AC3 filter for AC3 stuff and it switches to Sonic cineplayer for non-AC3 stuff. Very happy that I worked it out! Now the AC3 filter passes the DD stuff stright through to the receiver. Perfect ! Kai Quote
Unauthorized Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 (edited) Fine. Sorry, I'm german - so I don't remember if those posts were german or english... Edited December 14, 2004 by Unauthorized Quote
