No S2 HD reception with TBS5980

When replaying S2 HD channels there is no image or sound.

The other chanals are all operating properly.

 

Has anybody an idea what might be the reason for this failure?

Do I need special filter settings or plugins?

Are there DVBViewer users with proper HD reception on the TBS5980?

 

I run DVBViewer 5.6.1 under windows10 and I installed BDA driver version 1.0.3.3 for TBS5980.

 

Note: My usb terrestrial receiver replays all HD channels without problems.

Try removing the TbsCIapi1.dll and TbsCIapi2.dll is it then working?

After removong the two dll's (1 and 2) everything remained the same:

All channels ok, included decrypted CI channels, but no HD channels.

 

Note that, when switching to a HD channel (without result) and then switching to an orinary channel there was also no reception

Sorry, something went wrong.

 

So after re-switching without reception I needed a hardware rescan to reset.

 

Finally, after removing the last tbsciapi.dll, there was no sat reception at all.

Are you taking only about encrypted channels or all channels?

 

Are you using DiSEqC? If yes which?

Reception of both fta and encrypted channels is fine.

Only all S2 HD channels are problematic.

 

I use a TechniSat Multytenne (SATMAN 45) for Astra 19.2E, Eutelsat 13E, Astra 23.5E and Eurobird-Astra 28.5E.

All four orbital positions work fine in DVBViewer with strong signals.

 

As I told earlier, I use as well a terrestrial antenna/receiver and here the HD channels are ok.

DVBViewer channel-search finds all S2 HD channels.

 

I begin to fear that the TBS device itself is causing the problems.

You should change the Video renderer from System Default Renderer to EVR Custom.

And try LAV Video as H.264 video decoder. But I don't really think that this will change anything.

 

There are a lot of errors connected with the tbsCIapi.dll in the log. But the DVBViewer should work without the .dll.

It should be only necessary for encrypted channels (CI support) and remote-control support.

If it's true that only S2 HD channels are affected then DVB-S2_SD channels should be ok. Same for DVB-S_HD channels. If not, your theory could be wrong

No Bible TV for me.

 

Other channels on the same transponder, not marked as HD do not respond either. E.g. Schau TV.

Seems that you reception is not as good as you think. Check these transponders with transedit's analyser and report the missing packets if you get a lock.

Since I have no experience with TransEdit it may take some time.

 

Allow me to report an error that may be closely related to the earlier problem.

 

When starting DVBViewer with a channel (e.g. 10773 H, 3867 BBC One LON) on Astra 28.2 E (because it was on when exiting DVBViewer or from the context menu in the task bar) Windows10 gives a DVBViewer

"DVBViewer Pro Error" and stops the program.

Then I restart the program from the taskbar context menu, e.g with "Das Erste" (Astra 19.2E, 11836 H). And now I can switch to the BBC One (or other channels) without any problem.

 

The same DVBViewer error occurs when I switch from a terrestrial program (DVB-T France) to BBC One. So I must first switch to Das Erste and then to BBC.

Unfortunately the analyze window for 11244H remains blank.

The same result for most S2 responders.

A scan of these responders also finds nothing.

 

But some S2 responders show nice bitstreams like 11817 V (preview not possible).

 

Pure SD responders show properly in TransEdit.

you've picked the wrong one All services are scrambled.

 

Seems that there is someting fundamentally wrong with your setup or the dish is too small..
