aydan Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Yesterday i had a tuner lockup again. It happened after switching from K1 to Jump and back. DVBV just quit on me. after restarting DVBV i was unable to to tune into another channel. There just was no picture or sound. Another restart didn't work either. Since I didn't want to reboot i tried DVBV TE and it worked, sort of. I could tume all channels except K1. Only after switching back and forth several times I could tune K1 again. Seems DVBV somehow screwed up the SS2 driver. Afterwards DVBV worked again. Quote
Klausing Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I could tume all channels except K1. Sounds like a problem with your LNB or switch and not with DVBViewer Quote
aydan Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 how come i could tune P7, N24 & Sat1 which are on the same transponder? Also i'm plugged directly into a twin LNB. Quote
Gioxy Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 A possible solution is to "reset" (or better, switching off the supply of...) your LNB... For this task you can use a little utility, "FreeLNB-Tool", that Oliver mention in his precious manual... unfortunately it seems that the file isn't there anymore... Anyway you can download a similar tool, called "LNB Off" (or is the same? I can't test at the moment) by clicking there. I hope this will help... Quote
Klausing Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 and maybe you have wrong settings for K1. Made a channelscan and post your settings for K1. AND PLEASE give us needed informations ! Quote
aydan Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 Hm, I'm using the original Channellist from DVBV 3.0 so there shouldn't be a problem. Here's my config file: Quote
Klausing Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 and what are your settings for K1? I dont understand why you can look K1 here in this thread and here in this thread you thread you can't Quote
aydan Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 My setting for K1: Frequency 12480 MHz Symbolrate 27500 Polarity Vertical FEC auto Video PID 511 Audio PID 512 Teletext PID 33 Service PID 899 PMT PID 101 PCR PID 511 LNB 22kHz LOF 10600 After restrating DVBV the last channel is being retuned. If it was K1 you'll get K1 again, but after tuning another channel you can't get back to K1. Strange isn't it? I'll try to reconstruct this situation on other transponders as well. If it happens there also it might be something that has to to with DVBV's recording/tuning mechanism. Also: Why it DVBV TE able to cope with the tuner lock and DVBV3.0 isn't? Quote
aydan Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 (edited) I just had the same problem on RTL/RTL2/VOX I was timeshifting on vox and added recordings for current shows on RTL/RTL2. as soon as the recordings started the video jerked. Removing the recordings didn't resolve the problem. The first time a rebuild graph helped. The second time the problem persisted even after a restart of DVBV freelnb didn't help either. only starting DVBV TE resolved the problem. It seems something upsets the driver and DVBV TE seems to fix this. PS: My recording HD's are two brand new Samsung SP2014N on a Advance Sil630 UDMA-133 controlle each with their own channel. so speed shouldn't be a problem. Edited April 8, 2005 by aydan Quote
aydan Posted April 10, 2005 Author Posted April 10, 2005 Seems as if my modem driver (conexant) wreaks havoc on the SS2 driver. I hadn't noticed because I'm online most of the times I watch TV. When there's lots of traffic the symptoms seem to become more noticeable. So there's probably nothing you can do about this. I'll try to get myself another modem and try some more. Quote
aydan Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 Well, it seems i wasn't the modem driver. I'll try again with a fresh windows installation and report back if it worked. Quote
aydan Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 Seems I got myself a faulty harddrive. It simply took the harddrive too long to write the data. But I'm still concerned that the driver/viewer can't recover from such data lags. Quote
Griga Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 It simply took the harddrive too long to write the data. Did you enable buffering in the options? If yes, how many MB? Quote
aydan Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 I had set it pretty high but reduced it now to 4MB. It does work now on another HD. Quote
