Frodo B Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Hi all, I have DVBViewer 7.3.0.0 and I always have a noisy black border (2-3% of the image) present also in full screen mode. The information present in the border of the screen are lost (Black). Some channel logo, for example, are trunked. If I recorded a program with DVBViewer and I review it with another player (PoverDVD or VPN) for example, the black border is not present, So only DVBViewer has this border. Can you help me to remove it? Thanks Attilio Quote

Please provide a screenshot. Which graphics card/chip are you using? Please check if there are active (video) enhancement options in the driver settings. Some of them may be quite deadly Which video renderer are you using? See Settings -> Options -> Playback Components or Settings -> Filters while playback is going on. You may want to try another video renderer. First choice for DVBViewer is usually EVR Custom Video Renderer, second choice EVR Enhanced Video Renderer. Settings -> Zoom may also help to make unwanted borders invisible. Quote
Frodo B Posted July 15, 2024 Author Posted July 15, 2024 Hi Griga, to be honest I do not know if I had the same problem with previous DVBViewer version, I do not think so. I have GPU Radeon 570 Series In DVBViewer I tried both EVR Custom Video Renderer, and also EVR Enhanced Video Renderer. At the moment I can not attach any picture since they are 1.9 megs. But I can say that at the beginning, after selecting the channel, the picture starts ok, but after a while (less than 1 second) the black border is appairing and the pictures lost the external part. Just for Dbviewer, all other product are fine also playing somethig recorded by DVBViewer. Thanks Frodo B Quote
Frodo B Posted July 15, 2024 Author Posted July 15, 2024 Hi Griga still me, as soon as the channel is selected you can see as OK but after a while (less than 1 sec) the picture becomes as KO Thanks Ciao Frodo B Quote
Griga Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Which picture is ok for you? The first one or the second one? Or none of them? Both look cropped, the first one more, the second one less. Parts of the borders are cut off. Here is a screenshot of an unencrypted RAI channel that I can receive from Hotbird. Have a look a the channel logo in the upper left corner and the space around it. That's how it should look like. Did you check the DVBViewer zoom settings? Quote
Frodo B Posted July 16, 2024 Author Posted July 16, 2024 Yes you are right, the second one is better, it would be enough to me, but after a little while it becomes as the first. In all my rai Channel there is no picture on top of the logo, just Dark border. This effect is not present If I play a recorded channel by DVBViewer with another player!!! This means that DVBViewer receives and records the whole images, but during the display it puts the border. I can not put pictures anymore my max total size is 300K. Thanks Ciao Quote

Frodo B Posted July 17, 2024 Author Posted July 17, 2024 Hi Griga, zoom setting are defaulted, also changing them, the situation is worst. Here attached a screenshot of servus tv from astra. Ciao Quote
Griga Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 vor 17 Stunden schrieb Frodo B: zoom setting are defaulted, also changing them, the situation is worst. So the issue is at least related to zoom settings, or with other words, to the video renderer and your graphics card. However, it is not a known DVBViewer issue. There are no other reports about it up to now. I cannot reproduce it here, neither with Intel HD Graphics nor with a NVidia or an old ATI graphics card. This suggests that it is a specific problem with DVBViewer and your setup/hardware. Please check in the Settings -> Filters sub-menu if the playback components used by DVBViewer are the expected ones. Usually it should look like this: You can also try if the problem persists after a downgrade to an earlier DVBViewer version. You can find the installers for DVBViewer versions that were previously installed on your PC in the setup sub-directory of the DVBViewer program directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBViewer\setup). Version 7.2.5 is still available in the Older Versions section of the Download Area. Quote
Frodo B Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 OK Thanks for the help. I will Try. Ciao Quote
Frodo B Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Hi all, I solved. It was enough to do a Factory reset on the GPU software. Thank you for the support. Ciao Frodo B 1 Quote
