Sadly the station logos - list does not work correctly in Version 7.3.0.0.  It's not accepting changes in Station Names or Logos. ChannelLogos2.ini can be manually edited and saved with Notepad++ but the changes made manually in ChannelLogos2.ini have no effect on the next start of DVBViewer 7.3.0.0. On the next start DVBViewer automatically replaces the manually edited version of ChannelLogos2.ini with its own previous version.

If the station logos are manually changed  and saved in DVBViewer 7.3.0.0 using the Options-Menue, DVBViewer will show immedeatly the changed Logos. But on the next start of DVBViewer 7.3.0.0 all changes that were made are gone and automatically replaced by it's previous Version of DVBViewer. So an Update of Station Name or Logo is not possible in DVBViewer 7.3.0.0.

OS is Windows 10 32bit

Impossible. DVBViewer does not back up a previous version of ChannelLogos2.ini. However, changes may be overwritten if

  • the file is edited while DVBViewer is running. In case of changes within DVBViewer it saves ChannelLogos2.ini when it gets closed.
  • the file cannot be read anymore after editing, so DVBViewer starts with an empty list of assignments.

Please note that ChannelLogos2.ini is nothing but a cache for channel ID <-> logo file assignments, so they don't have to be determined again and again. Users are not supposed to change it with a text editor. Options -> Channel Logos provides all means for changing it.

I can't reproduce it here. I've tried the following:

  • Removed my C:\Program Files (x86)\DVBViewer\Images\logos folder and ChannelLogos2.ini from the configuration folder for starting from scratch.
  • Re-installed the logo files.
  • Launched DVBViewer and applied various changes in Options -> Channel Logos.
  • Closed and restarted DVBViewer and checked which logos are displayed. All changes were still in effect.

Sorry, but I have no idea why changes get lost in you case... I would monitor the "last modified" date/time of ChannelLogos2.ini in the Explorer in order to find out at which points of time it gets re-written. After changes on Options -> Channel Logos, DVBViewer should re-write the file as soon as you click Apply, or at the latest when DVBViewer gets closed.
