X-Tester Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 In the days of VCR and VHS Reording there was (still is?) a system called VPS Timer. It informs the recorder of changes in starting and end times of a recording. eg. A Movie on TV was set to start at 20:15 hours but du to some issues it will start a few minutes later. VPS kicked in an started the recorder accordingly. Is this possible with DVB-(T/S) and if yes could you provide/program a plugin for this? Many thx Quote
FEFX Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 AFAIK there is no VPS-signal in dvb-s/t/c streem, so isn't possible Quote
dirk4000 Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Even if there is no vps signal in the data stream there is a simple solution to realize this feature in your software. Why dont you evaluate the epg info ? There should be enough information you need to know. Workflow: After the user has selected the tv show he wants to record via the epg guide of your software the DVBViewer tunes the correct frequency and reads the epg info awaiting the start of the show.... Kind regards, Dirk Quote
Guest Lars_MQ Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Why dont you evaluate the epg info ?There should be enough information you need to know. "Should" is the keyword. The tv-stations do interprete the specification very widely and with a lot of fantasy. So there is no guaranteed way this would work. Quote
