ctb10 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hello everybody, I have been loving DVBViewer since I purchased it. Sadly, I have recently encountered a problem. DVBViewer works perfectly fine if I have my TV tuner (Hauppauge WinTV) plugged into the USB port. However, if the tuner is unplugged and I try to open DVBViewer, as soon as it has finished loading and the main window appears, I see the text "No Playback" in the bottom left corner and the main screen is black, and after a few seconds, the program closes entirely. It appears this problem occurs no matter whether I have set the channel to an OTA channel or an internet stream beforehand. I could forgive this problem due to the USB extender that I have, but today - out of nowhere - I have found out that if the tuner is plugged into the USB extender, I now have the same problem, even when the tuner shows that it is turned on (it used to work just fine before). It'll only work now if the tuner is plugged directly into the USB port. Sadly, I don't have enough ports on the computer, so I can't leave the bulky tuner in along with the other devices I need to use without a USB extender. All of this was on version 7.3.0, I tried to upgrade to 7.3.1 just now but it did not fix the problem. Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Quote

Does it also happen if you start DVBViewer with media file playback, e.g. by dragging & dropping some video or MP3 on the DVBViewer icon? vor 6 Stunden schrieb ctb10: Sadly, I don't have enough ports on the computer, so I can't leave the bulky tuner in along with the other devices I need to use without a USB extender. What about using a USB hub (preferably with power supply) for getting more USB ports? Quote

Sadly, this does not work either. It plays for a few seconds and then closes. As long as the tuner is not directly plugged in, the application will close. 20 hours ago, Griga said: What about using a USB hub (preferably with power supply) for getting more USB ports? If this problem continues, then this might be the only solution, but I hope that there's a way to fix this without having to buy a USB hub, because it worked fine before. Quote

That's strange, because in this case DVBViewer doesn't use the tuner at all. The only tuner-related action is checking the availabilitity at a very early stage after being started by letting Windows enumerate the available devices and trying to find the tuner in the returned list. Maybe a support.zip created after reproducing the issue in DVBViewer debug mode sheds more light on it... Quote
