hse Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Hello, Freely is the UK's new free to air tv service using IPTV instead of DVB-T When you do a scan on DVB-T the channels show up as "Channel name (Internet)" But DVBViewer can not open them, I assume they are just stubs that point to an m3u8. Is there something I can do to get these channels working? https://rxtvinfo.com/freely-channel-list-uk-epg/ https://i.imgur.com/B7aVoSO.png Quote

DVBViewer is able to handle IPTV, but according to this discussion Freely requires signing in to something or a subscription to make it work. DVBViewer contains no mechanisms for that. We have something similar in Germany. "(Internet)" channels are data channels (sometimes with a still picture) that provide a streaming URL by using HbbTV mechanisms, so at least some of them can be received in DVBViewer if the HbbTV add-on is installed, or even without HbbTV if the URL is known. AFAIK HbbTV isn't used in the UK, but MHEG-5. The HbbTV add-on also supports MHEG-5, and it did work some years ago on Freesat, but now it doesn't seem to work anymore in DVBViewer. I've just tried with BBC One - no success. Sorry, I don't see anything that could help to receive the UK Freely channels in DVBViewer. Unfortunately things like that are handled more and more restrictively by providers, particularly those with "free" in their name Quote
