digitl Posted November 17 Posted November 17 I have run many iterations of DVBViewer Pro since 2008 on an old PC that has just failed in a big way so I need to reinstall on a new PC. I have found an old download of v7.2.4.0, a .dvbvkey from 2010(!) seemingly linked to v4.5 and a password consisting of four groups of four characters from I-know-not-when. DVBViewer Pro will run (it doesn’t show the 'Demo' overlay) and I can search for, and find, channels on TBS DVB-T2 and DVB-S cards. I can save selected channels into Favourites but they all display a black screen without any audio. Any advice on how to fix this would be much appreciated! Quote

Griga Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Zitat Videocard: Microsoft Hyper-V Video Your Windows 11 seems to be running in a virtual machine. Is this correct? Please have a look at the DVBViewer Filter property page. What do you see when a channel is tuned? Does it look like the screenshot on the page, or does it display "no data"? Quote

No, it's a bog standard Windows 11 installation. Hopefully, the image I've attached will shed some light on the issue? Quote
Griga Posted November 20 Posted November 20 "No data" on the DVBViewer Filter (DVBSource) property page indicates that DVBViewer doesn't receive any data. Provided the outdoor equipment / antenna is OK, the TBS card receives a signal and the channel data in the channel list is correct, this could mean that the TBS device / driver is not working properly in your installation, However, your support.zip indicates that the TBS devices / drivers are present and installed, and they seem to be up-to-date. Using them triggers no error in DVBViewerr. Furthermore, Am 17.11.2025 um 15:20 schrieb digitl: I can search for, and find, channels on TBS DVB-T2 and DVB-S cards so you have performed a channel search and got results? This is only possible if the TBS cards do deliver data. Another strange thing: According to your screenshot you have selected ITV1 HD, the DVBViewer main window displays EPG data for it, but the status bar "BBC TWO HD". Some confusion in your channel list? Were there still old entries present when you performed the channel search? Did you install DVBViewer from the scratch without re-using data from your old installation? Regarding your video settings: "System Default Renderer" (a kind of legacy fallback) should not be used as video renderer in a "bog standard" Windows 11 installation. Rather "EVR Custom Video Renderer" (DVBViewer default) or "EVR Enhanced Video Renderer". "Microsoft Hyper-V Video" in your SystemInfo.txt suggests that a MS graphics card driver for shared graphics card usage by a virtual machine is installed. This doesn't seem to be OK. If your Windows 11 is not running in a VM, I would rather expect a NVidia driver, since there is a "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" device present, most likely because you have a NVidia graphics chip/card, that supports digital audio output via HDMI. However, even if this is causing video playback issues, at least audio should work. So the main problem is that DVBViewer gets no data, for whatever reason, so there is no opportunity for playback issues. It's hard to tell why... sorry, no more ideas ATM. Quote
digitl Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 Thanks for all that: appreciated! The antenna feed is OK as it delivers audio and video to a PVR that is perfectly viewable. I think the best thing to do is a complete, fresh, reinstall to get rid of any conflicts. However, rather than reinstall v7.2.4.0 I should probably install the latest iteration (v7.3.1.0?) but I can only find a demo version to download. Where could I find the full version please? Or does adding the key convert it? Quote
