Griga Posted April 17 Posted April 17 A new DVBViewer / Media Server plugin named yt-dlp Server Plugin is available in the Members Area., Plugins section. The plugin uses the command line tool yt-dlp for playing videos offered on websites like YouTube in DVBViewer. Please note that the plugin does not use yt-dlp for downloading videos, but only for retrieving video URLs. It has particularly been developed for users that want to watch TV channels broadcasting via YouTube in DVBViewer (e.g. see here), but it is also able to handle other types of video. Basically the plugin contains a little local HTTP server, that forwards URLs extracted by yt-dlp to DVBViewer, the Media Server and also other clients like VLC. Please also note that using this plugin is no plug and play thing suitable for newbies. It requires reading the Readme contained in the plugin download (English and German), and maybe also instructions in the yt-dlp wiki on GitHub. You need to know what has to be done and how it must be done to make it work, particularly concerning the yt-dlp configuration as well as the plugin and DVBViewer / Media Server configuration. Information previously posted in this forum about watching YouTube live streams is invalid now. You should only refer to the plugin ReadMe and maybe additional information that will be posted in this topic. Feedback and comments are welcome! Quote
JunePaik Posted Thursday at 10:32 AM Posted Thursday at 10:32 AM Gilt die localhost Einschränkung auch beim Media-Server? Also selbst Geräte ausm lokalen Netzwerk können das dann leider nicht nutzen? Btw. wie verhalten sich Live-Stream die zwar regelmäßig aber nicht durchgängig senden (z.b. Rocket Beans TV). Ändert sich da jedesmal die Video-ID? Quote

JunePaik Posted Friday at 07:50 AM Posted Friday at 07:50 AM (edited) Hi Griga, didn't notice I was in the english section. I put my question above through DeepL: Zitat Does the “localhost” restriction also apply to the media server? So even devices on the local network can't use it, unfortunately? By the way, how do live streams that broadcast regularly but not continuously (e.g., Rocket Beans TV) work? Does the video ID change every time? but will use the german thread now. Griga Posted Saturday at 04:32 AM Author Posted Saturday at 04:32 AM A new yt-dlp Server Plugin version 1.1.3 is available in the Members Area., Plugins section: Fix: Wrong handling of URLs that shall be passed to yt-dlp. As a result, only URLs containing a query part beginning with a question mark like .../watch?v=... could be processed by yt-dlp (see here, German topic). Quote
