Rodolfo Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) I use skystar2 whith A8N-SLI that it brake (I think for a farm defect) one times but after the garanty change now is all ok! All the ASUS A8N MB line are already know to have a big problem with the power line and is proven to be broken by SS2 and other power consuming cards!!! (I've read on italian's forums of at least 3 people with 4 of this MB broken!) ASUS A8N SLI (Deluxe) have a weak power supply for PCI. Therefore powerful PCI-cards are not supported. It seems to Epox 9NPA+ Ultra have a such problem. You should wait for a new revision or change board to another model. It's better you immediately remove the SS2 from that mobo and try to change it with another ASUS (I also love it!) but from a different series... Quote

BTW: non è che con progdvb la mobo non si rompa, il problema è la corrente che la SS2 prende dal bus PCI... ...uomo avvisato, mezzo salvato! Translation: ...who can say? But is indeed the seller that can be kind with you... BTW: the problem is in the current that have to come out from the PCI bus for the SS2... ...men advised, half saved! Rodolfo Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) già si è rotta ma pensavo fosse un difetto di fabbrica e me l'hanno cambiata ma ora dopo che l'hanno sostituita sta funzionando molto bene! cmq non penso sia un problema di pc ma proprio di DVBViewer che secondo me come codec deve essere un pò universalizzato o meglio si dovrebbero inserire dei codec che funzionano al 100% con tutte le macchine.... fammi sapere se hai soluzioni! Rodolfo say: it has been already broken off once and I have said to the vendor that the Pci has not never worked; they have changed, and so far it is working good! IMHO is not a PC problem but just of DVBViewer witch codec must be reworked, or better, they have to insert some codec that 100% work with all PC.... let me know if you have any solutions! Re: - Io spero che ti abbiano dato una revisione che funzioni, il fatto che la stessa ASUS ammette che c'è un problema significa che il problema c'è davvero... - DVBViewer non ha mai incluso i codec (che sono fatti da apposite software house specializzate in questo) nè altri componenti base del DirectShow (come ad es. il demultiplexer MPEG) che bisogna procurarsi comunque altrove; anche la versione TE che è sul CD dei driver della SS2 sfrutta i codec che sono messi a disposizione dalla Technisat, non fatti in proprio... e siccome i codec sono molti e i problemi del DirectShow ancora di più, hanno fin dai primi tempi fornito degli strumenti per risolvere eventuali problemi che comunque non possono essere imputati a loro. I problemi più grossi li creano i Codec-Pack: a volte sono talmente ingarbugliati che neanche un DirectX eradicator riesce a risolverli... - la soluzione migliore è che tu segui le indicazioni per fornirci le informazioni che ci servono per aiutarti, sono sintetizzate in questa pagina... Transl: - I hope you now ave a working rev. of your mobo; but ASUS itself admitted that this mobo series have a PCI power problem... - DVBViewer never had any codec inside (thera are special software house to make it) nor other DirectX basic bit (e.g. the MPEG demultiplexer) that is up to you to install; also the TE version on Technista diriver's CD use some codec that is inside thank to Technisat himself... and becuse there were a lot of different codec and also more DirectX problems that can arise, they have from the early time developed some tools to resolve them, but they aren't their problem. The biggest problem are caused by Codec-Packs, sometime so complicated that neither a DirectX-eradicator can solve... - the better solutios is that you give us the needed info to help us to help you...
