has anyone tried this one to watch TV? It sure is an excellent piece of hardware as an SDR device for all purposes. you can even receive ham satellites with it. "fun cube + " dongle made in U.K., for a change.

RTL2832 based USB-sticks with IR-remote do work
transducer posted a topic in DVB Hardware (Digital TV cards)
for as little as 10€ or $$ incl. shipping you can purchase RTL2832U based USB-tuners for DVBViewer-pro. they usually work like a charm, except it may make sense to get a better antenna, possibly DIY style. an example tuner picture is attached below. it comes with an IR remote control incl. battery. the standard drivers for windows acc. to seller from : http://download.buytra.com/driver/SPC-0155-Driver.zip include a tool by realtek to reassign the buttons of the remote. I guess it is absolutely feasible to use the remote for general purposes with a proper software e.g. starting scripts or .cmd files. the tools are under Programs/realtek if you install the driver.exe packet by Realtek, the .EXE is unzippable. my question: has anyone tried to repurpose the remote or got the key reassign proggy to operate nicely? I found no docs on that issue.
