OzMick
Hi, I love to program as it is, but would be interested in whether it would be possible to incorporate HTTP Streaming as a future capability, or whether someone more knowledgable than I knows if this is already built in can tell me how to. The reasoning behind this is that I use my Xbox as a PVR (standard old Xbox, not the 360). As it stands, I've a modchip in the the Xbox, and it can access hard drive shares for playing presently saved (and video that is CURRENTLY being recorded and incomplete), but without the help of VideoLAN Client the Xbox is physically incapable of receiving unicast/multicast. It can however tune in to a HTTP stream, so in a roundabout way I can set up VideoLAN to intercept multicast, then stream over HTTP. Perhaps if something like this was incorporated it would be a strong selling point if heavily advertised that it can be used as a substitute for a set-top box, all you need is a modded xbox with Xbox Media Center... Win/Win for all parties the way I see it! Thanks for your time, Michael Quote Link to comment
