i.clegg@v21mail.co.uk
Hi, My names Ian and I'm from the UK. I've just installed Airstar 2 PCI and DVBViewer Pro 3.2.5. However, the PRO version cannot tune to channels that the TE version 4.2.3 can. This happens to be the main channels here in the UK (BBC). My set top box was able to find channels OK with this aerial and the TE version can as well, so I've ruled out reception problems (I've also got an amplifier plugged into aerial). I tried copying the transponder .INI files from the TE version to PRO version, but there was no change. Any help/advice you can provide would be most appreciated. Griga
the PRO version cannot tune Please more detailed - doesn't find the channels when scanning? Cannot play them? All channels or only some of them? Quote Link to comment
i.clegg@v21mail.co.uk
Thanks for the response Griga, I've found the source of the problem and it is not connected to DVBViewer or the Airstar card, but is in fact due to the Sigma Designs MPEG accelerator card. I've now un-installed the card and everything is fine in both TE and PRO versions. The Sigma drivers make quite extensive changes to the windows graphics libraries (overrides any quartz.dll wih it's own version etc) and this was causing instabilities throughout windows.
