Rob Jarvis
Having installed SkyStar2 card and software, it took me ages to work out how to find the correct channels (still not sure if I've got it right). But now the PC locks up every now and then when DVBViewer is running. There's no pattern to when it happens, sometimes I'm changing channel or looking at the EPG screen, or even just watching a channel. The PC locks up completely, requiring a hard reset. I then read the FAQ and the first one states: "1. Installation 1.1 Hardware Question: Are there any known compatibility issues in combination with main boards, which are based on the nVidia nForce 4 chipset? Answer: Currently we know, that our PCI cards are not compatible to most main boards, which are based on the nVidia nForce4 chipset." To me this reads that any motherboard with the nForce4 chipset is not compatible with SkyStar2. Bit of a pain as I have an Asus A8N SLI. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Guest Lars_MQ
Oh remove the skystar immediatly. There is a real danger your motherboard gets fried! There are serveral reports of destroyed asus sli motherboards because they don't work properly with dvb-s cards link Quote Link to comment
