Griffel
Hello erverybody, from the public download area I downloaded the DVBViewer manuals in German and in English: German: http://www.DVBViewer.com/handbuch/DVBViewer.chm English http://www.DVBViewer.com/oliver/DVBViewer.chm Both don't work, I get this error on every page: "Fehler: Server oder DNS kann nicht gefunden werden Internet Explorer" (Error: Server or DNS can not be found) However, other "chm"-files work, like "TransEdit.chm" or "DVBViewer GE.chm". Does anyone have an idea what goes wrong? It looks like the files try to open an internet connection. So, why? Are they trying to phone to home? Even if I shut down my firewall the error occurs. Unfortunately I can't confirm your proposal of solution. The problem still exists, even on different PCs. Can anyone else confirm or deny my problem? I can't believe this problem occurs only at me. Griffel
http://www.DVBViewer.com/forum/index.php?s...indpost&p=75089 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks a lot for this hint! The problem was solved by changing file attributes to allow the file to be opened even if it was a file originated by another computer. The change affected other *.chm files too, which can be opened now. It seems I changed global security settings by changing values provided by the attributes dialog of the file. Did I mention I love Windows for it's concepts ... ;-) However, thanks again for the hint! Regards, Eckhard Quote Link to comment
