DVD decoder

Hi,

I thought I'd understood that included in the TechniSat installation CDROM was the Sonic Cineplayer app and that that included a DVD decoder. Sonic Cineplayer is installed on my machine but I can't find any DVD decoder (and I have uninstalled/reinstalled the entire hardware/software suite).

 

Have I understood wrong? Or, if I understood right, might I ask someone to tutor me in how to get the DVD decoder installed please? Do I have to do something to activate it?

It's mpeg2 decoder is supposed to be pretty good.

You can use the sonic for dvdplayback with the DVBViewer. The sonic decoder is include not the dvdplayer app.

Thanks for the tip Snadi Stidi, I'll bear it in mind. However for the time being I'm still trying to keep things as simple as possible and therefore to stick with only what comes with the package. Later, I may try add-ons but then I'll probably prefer to use the NVidia DVD decoder.

OK Lars, understood. I don't know now what I did and why it wasn't working before but it is now.
