daffy
Hi, it seems as if every once in a while audio will drop out for one "blip" under these circumstances: * DVB-S stream with AC3 3/2 + SW 448 KBit/s (according to DVBSource 2.7.2) * AC3Filter 1.02a test8 * SPDIF enabled This is what AC3Filter emits on the "Main" properties page: *********************** AC3 speakers: 3/2.1 (5.1) sample rate: 48000Hz bitrate: 448kbps stream: 8 bit frame size: 1792 bytes nsamples: 1536 bsid: 6 clev: -3.0dB (0.7071) slev: -3.0dB (0.7071) dialnorm: -25dB bandwidth: 14kHz/20kHz *********************** AC3Filter does not display any errors on its frame counter The DVBSource filter does not display any discontinuities * SPDIF coax cable to a Pioneer VSX-D514 A/V receiver (5.1 capable) The same kind of drop-out I hear with the NVIDIA Audio Codec in straight SPDIF pass-through mode. Is my A/V receiver not able to handle the DVB-S audio stream? It does not seem to have problems with 5.1 audio from DVDs? Any thoughts? Quote Link to comment
daffy
it seems as if every once in a while audio will drop out for one "blip" under these circumstances: Funny. I am watching the live DVB-S broadcast, and get quite a few drop-outs. Just by chance I have a .TS recording of just those few seconds where the drop-outs were present in the live stream. And, guess what - the .TS recording seems to playback just fine, without drop-outs where present where they were in the live stream? What could cause this kind of behaviour?! From what I can see, everything from the DVB-S and .TS stream gets to the A/V receiver just the same - so why don't I get reproducible behaviour? Could the SPDIF out functionality of the mainboard have problems in the kernel (driver)? Quote Link to comment
Griga
What is your DVBViewer Filter Latency value? Quote Link to comment
daffy
What is your DVBViewer Filter Latency value? I tried settings from 150 ms up to 500 ms. I also tried to crank up the "queued" settings - no effect. In the meantime, I have installed ffdshow and am sending any other stream (e.g. ARD in AC3 2/0) onwards straight over SPDIF. I get similar glitches, occasionally. [*] FWIW, I do not see any diagnostic messages (error or informational), anywhere. Odd, odd, odd. [*] ffdshow seems to behave nicer with AC3 2/0 and SPDIF than AC3Filter. Quote Link to comment
uglyrooster
Just found this topic and I have the same issue but thought it is a hardware problem. Have you found any solutions in the past months? All settings discussed here have also no influence. Quote Link to comment
