Hauppauge Remote Control

Sorry if this has been asked before - I did search the forum before hand but couldn't find any clear answers.

I wish to use my Hauppauge remote control to change channels etc within DVBViewer. I've tried using the 'Learn' feature within Input but it doesn't seem to detect the controller. I've got the WinTV remote controller app running or do I need to be using other software? Thanks

Is Girder really the only way to get the Hauppauge remote working with DVBViewer? :bye:

Try searching the hauppauge.co.uk site. I use the latest Hauppauge Remote with DVBViewer.

You will need to edit the irremote.ini file in Windows, as described in various posts on teh Hauppauge site.

Thanks for the tip! I found the solution on the Hauppauge site. So now my only problem is that the remote doesn't work at all - a problem that I'm not alone with acoording to the forum! :bye:

ThomP. I guess that you have the Nova 500 from your other post. I can use the remote that is supplied with this kit by using the attached irremote.ini file in the Windows directory. rename the existing file and copy this in it's place. You need ir.exe in the DVBViewer subdirectory, and it should be running. See if that solves the problem.
