gibman
I just started using vmr9 mode. I have previously used overlay until now. If I use a 16:9 optimized OSD skin like: xbox - HD version hd skin1 by Uwe or any other 1280x720 OSD skin I get the following problem: Video aspect ratio is incorrect. Ex. When tuning into a 4:3 channel - the image is squashed on each side. Check these images to see the problem in action. I am running a 4:3 screen res @ 1024x768 and 16:9 1280x720 - same issues when using a 16:9 OSD. 1024x768 res. vmr9 + 16:9 OSD - BAD http://www.suburban-design.dk/DVBViewer/vmr9_HD_OSD.jpg 1024x768 res. vmr9 + 4:3 OSD - GOOD http://www.suburban-design.dk/DVBViewer/vmr9_OSD.jpg I have the same problem on 3 PCs. Changing mpeg2 decoder filter does not help. Toggleing fullscreen does not help as well. If I choose a 4:3 OSD skin I have almost the same problem. When I select a 4:3 channel from a non fullscreened state, with the context menu - I get a correct aspect ratio. I now fullscreen the video and it is still correct. So far so good. If I then change to another 4:3 channel from FULLSCREEN mode the 4:3 channel is now squashed as the screenshots I provided. I can fix it by toggleing fullscreen. In other words, double click the video image to make the dvbV app window appear. Double click it again to make it fullscreen. Problem fixed. Quite annoying when doing channel changes. All the above is working when changing to and from 16:9 anamorphic channels. No problems there. There is NO problem with a 4:3 monitor res like 1024x 768 along with a 4:3 OSD skin. I guess this is the only tested vrm9 config on a ATI based cards? Conclusion: vmr9 is quite useless for 16:9 lovers like me, who is using a DLP projector DVBViewer 3.5 Ati 9700 with catalyst 6.6 drivers. Any hope for a fix ? Until then I am back on good ole' overlay. /Gibman Edited August 5, 2006 by gibman Quote Link to comment

For me it works fine with aspect ratio set to "auto" and using all kinds of diffrent codecs. I use the resolution 1366x768 with my old ATI 9600, and I get full screen when the transmission is in 16:9 and black borders on 4:3. Sometimes you have to go to the filters and set the aspect ration in the decoder to auto. Check that setting also. Quote Link to comment
