damjang
I don't know if this was the right subforum for this request, but I try... When I try TV Slovenija 1 or 2 (SLO-TV1 & 2 on hotbird) channel the TeleText I see it only with normal characters and don't see it with slovenian characterst (like čšž - I see csz). Also if I change the TTX option in DVBViewer to Croatian (that have same characterset like Slovenian) there is nothing different. I know that this problem is also known in terrestrial TV, it depend of the TTX decoder chip in the TV if support this characterset. From this I suppose that (maybe) it is the same for DVB-S receivers. Is someone here that know that problem or can analyze the stream from that TV to see what they broadcast? Griga
Well, I had a look at it... DVBViewer only does a teletext level 1 (basic level) character translation for Croatian. From the specifications: Level 1 transmissions are restricted to using the G0 set and some characters in the table may be substituted to accommodate the requirements of the local languages. It seems the SLO-TV teletext needs a higher level of decoding (or a special localized teletext decoder, don't know), that allows to use a completely different character set, since the pages don't contain the special characters that are supposed to be substituted. On a level 1 teletext page "čšž"should appear as "-÷|" when changing the TTX option (as you call it) to English, or as "°ßö" in German. "csz" belong to the characters in the underlying level 1 G0 set that are not supposed to be substituted. Quote Link to comment
damjang
Thank you for the answer. But I don't understand it completely. I send an e-mail to TV-SLO and they say me that it is only the decoder that must support the characterset. I for eg. look the decoder chip SAA5243 that is available in 5 language version (west european, est europeran, arabic, hebrew and turkish). There is also the character set shown in the datasheet. It wil be possible to support this in DVBViewer? damjang Quote Link to comment
damjang
From DVBViewer I try to save the .ts with teletext and then decode the ttx with ProjectX and PorjectX decode the TTX of TV-SLO with the accented characters. So maybe have a look at the ProjectX source code to see how it work can help to add this function to DVBViewer. Thank You damjang Quote Link to comment
